how do i get my phone number removed from west asset management system. for three years now they call me off and on about someone that i don't even know. and each and every time they say that they will remove my phone number, but they still call, i complain, then they call again and on and on and on...

I'm receiveing calls from 443-550-7975 on a daily basis. I know how to go about stopping debt collectors from contacting me but I have to send my cease and desist letter to an address that may not belong to them. They have so many.

They called me on a deceased person whom I am not related to. The number they gave to call was 866-597-4781 Our church provided a pallberer and cake and coffee to a family that had no assets for a woman who was on county assistance and blind. These are pure predators and unchristian. Please pray for those who are working their call lines.

This company has been calling me for 6 months looking for another female with my same name but different social security number. what's worse is i have asked them four times now to put me on a do not call list and have requested information in writing - none of that has happened yet. They have been rude and do not seem to care when i repeat each time i'm not the girl. I've started to get her social memorized from talking to them so much.

i am filing a complaint with the better business bureau against them.

Also add the FTC, FCC, your states and their states AG, the ACA international. Also, send them a full cease comm letter stating you are not the consumer they are seeking and you will not hesitiate to file suit for the aggravation. If they continue after recieving it, sue them. It'll cost you $25 to file in small claims and you can sue them for up to $1000 with very little effort.

they just started calling me about an overdrawn account from Chase that I can't afford to pay off at the present time. But since I have not received a letter from them yet, I threatened them, and they've quit calling for now. I told them that I'll make payment arrangements when I receive a letter. But it's going to be a cease and desist letter!

I set up a final payment with Charity at West Asset Mgmt, the collection was supposed to be closed and reported as a paid in full. Well ran my report again today and now they have it as a balance due of $46 in collections. This company needs to be stoped and sued. I would gladly be in a suite against them. They lie, they have threatened me and I have told them that they have 30 days before I get an Lawyer!

Considering I have no debt I didn't reply when they left this number to call back:
1-888-302-0858

If they call again the FCC will hear about it.

West Asset Management is one of the most dishonest companies that I have ever worked. I set up payment arrangements with them to take care of some old hospital bills. They informed me that if by chance I would not meet the arrangements to call them back to make other arrangement. When I called back I was told that no one has any such conversation with me because I am not a customer and they do not make changes to payment arrangements. My advice to you is not to give them any of your personal account information if you are not 100% sure that you will have the funds.

The address I have is
P.O. Box 790113
St. Louis, MO 63179
Telephone: 1-888-516-3287

I have been dealing with them since 2004, over a old workers compersation claim. I finally got BWC to pay, now West Asset is saying that the don't know what I am talking about.

The next time they call, politely explain that you don't know the person, politely request that they stop calling, politely verify the phone number (if you are returning the call from a message), if you are getting mail politely explain that too.

Remember, debtors are rude to debt collectors and hang up on them. The more you do that the more it seems you are the actual debtor and are just dodging. If you are polite and the calls don't stop, politely ask for a supervisor or manager, they will help you stop the calls.

Sending a nastygram in writing will only enforce the belief you are the debtor. It may stop the calls, but when the debt is sold or reassigned they will just start again from a new debt colelctor. Sending a polite letter will help break the cycle.

Finally, if you get the calls spaced out by weeks and/or months, they are likely skip-tracing the debtor and finding your information over and over. You probably are connected to the debtor some way, via address or somesuch. Be polite and they will do their best not to waste time calling you. Debt collectors want to collect money, not harass innocents, so if you help them understand that you aren't the debtor, they won't WANT to call you.

The debt IS mine. I can't pay on it because I lost my job in January, and I'm on unemployment. It's a an overdrawn checking account from Chase. I used to have a small business and I was taking credit cards. I terminated the contract because I wasn't doing any business, and they charged me a $250 early termination fee, which was automatically debited from the checking account.

I had to wait three months for my unemployment checks to start, and by the time I got them, Chase sold the account to the collection agency. If my unemployment had started sooner, I would have been paying down the account, but I was unable to. So whatever collection agency has the account when I get a job, will get payments. If West Asset Management starts calling again, I'll send them a Cease and Desist letter via Certified Mail, Return Receipt. If they persist, I'll sue them in small claims court.

The people who called me today are located in Maryland. There phone number is (443) 205-1012. They must also have affiliates in Texas & Los Angeles as well. You may wish to consider filing a restraining order against them if feasible.

West Asset Management left a harrasing message at my house for someone who sold this house 3+ years ago. They denied (Cindy at 866.882.5878) using my address to track down my phone number (different from the debtor's phone number). This company should cease activity such as this that may well be IILEGAL!!!! ...and Cindy should learn better manners and respect for others.

West Asset Management Company has stopped calling me, and I've only received one letter from them. So at this point in time, I don't know what's happening with the debt. Maybe it's been sold to another CA after two weeks of them calling.

If I do get any more calls from CA's, I'll be sending a CD letter.

I had my number for two years when this company started calling my home. With an automated service. I just hang up when I hear the "Hellooooo!"

I got the number of a business that was closed down (reasons unknown to me), and now I get calls to resolve the final business matters of the "late" Lloyd Keller.

Never met the man, and I won't be seeking out his corpse for resolution. It would be really nice to NOT have to mail a certified letter to get the calls to stop. It's ridiculous. Especially since my number is listed, and it's super easy to go online and verify that I am, indeed, who I claim to be. I don't get paid to do the job that these people are supposed to do.

I will if the calls start to become a real problem, but it's clear that these folks aren't in customer service. My own bill collectors aren't this irritating.

Something like that happened to me twice and I changed my phone number again (and specifically requested a number that had been out of circulation for over 6 months). Then again, I haven't listed my number since 1997 (when that happened the first time). That time, the number belonged to a hospice care that went bankrupt so I had a *lot* of calls.... I don't think they should give commercial numbers to residences...

After settling on a medical bill with a hospital I found out the hospital had turned it over to west management while we were working on the arangement. We explained to west mgt. that we had paid it and they still demanded the money. We chose just not to pay or pursue and realized just recentlly that this is really hurting us because it is showing up on our credit report! Do I just pay it to get it off my credit report? What to do!!!

I tries reaching West Asset Management at the Sherman Tx address and the letter came back marked undeliverable by the post office--so I assume that address is no good.
This organization is a real pain. I have spoken to them twice and they still harrass me.

Oh they'll be back. These people never stop. They have been calling me since my mother died almost 3 years ago trying to collect money she owed on a credit card. I had nothing to do with the account, never used it, my name is not on the credit card nor was I an authorized user. The laws in my state (and I believe all states) are a child is not responsible for a parent's debt. There is no estate. My mother died literally penniless. She was in a nursing home for almost a year before she died and they took every cent she had. I just quit talking to them. I have caller ID (thank goodness) and I recognize their 866#. I just quit answering. They stop for a while, somtimes months, then start calling again. Well they can call until the cows come home, they are not getting a dime off me for something I am not responsible for.

I have had a problem with West Asset, I stated I wanted to pay my bill, but could only afford $30.00 a month due to I am not working. They told me they could only accept $50.00 and I have requested a copy of the bill stating what I owe. No response. They are haressing consumers and not replying we are entitled to a copy of a bill showing what they are charging.

For approx. a month, I have been called nearly every day on my cell, and sometimes more than once a day by WAM. They finally started leaving messages stating they were a debt collector and wanted me to call them, so I did. They asked for my phone number, then after I told them, they stated they were calling about someone I didnt know. The woman said she would take my number off of the call list, so we will see. The number they call from is 703-398-0001, and the call back number is 866-302-0858.
