I received a call from these people yesterday. They said that for a $200 retainer they can put me in a debt management program and even consolidate my payday loans. Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they legit?

Dont do anything with RA BREANNAS office or anyone he refers you to. Go to another debt management company..Look to see if they are non profit and it there are any complaints against the company under BBB. Also other places charge 14 dollars a month as opposted to 39 from RA brennans office, and they send you statements every month, someone will take your call 24/7 and you will get your bills paid on time! I wouldnt trust his Company for sh*t. Maybe you havent been screwed over by his company but I suggest read all of the pages posted on here before giving him any money. If it didnt happen to you before it could down the road. It happened to me after being with him company for 7 months.

Jaime, thanks for all the information you provided. Your posts have been informative. But, I have to say I disagree about what you're saying about the company that I signed up with. I sent back the contract to Consumers Alliance Processing Corporation and I have had nothing but a good experience with them. My accounts had been dropped (due to no payment from RA Brennan) and they were able to set everyone back up. Appartently, he messed up so bad that even creditors heard about it!! How bad do you have to be for Chase and Citibank to know your company personally! Anyway, before you start w/ all the allegations, I don't feel I'm being duped AGAIN! Have you ever actually looked up the company? Try to Google it - I did before I signed up and I didn't see anything about RA Brennan or stocks? Maybe I'm missing something, but I think I did all my research.... at least my accounts are at a low apr again! Some even bought my accounts current. We'll just have to wait and see if my missing money gets posted. They claim they sent it - I'm not believing till I see it.

Hey, irish51cc - if you want to lose all your money - go ahead to this company. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst nightmare - which is exactly what Brennan is - hope Karma does the right thing.

I said last week that Brennan made some payments to my account. I checked my accounts today and guess what... All of those payments have BOUNCED. I was unhappy before, but now I am furious. I sent out an email once again (actually I have been sending them almost daily) because they still owe me money. I recieved an auto reply from the "paralegal" that is supposed to be helping me:

Our law office is moving to a larger building, to accomadate our growing staff, and as a consequence I will be unable to view your mail right now. Also, this coming Mon-Wed we will be doing training to make ourselves more effective and better able to serve you. I will not be able return your calls until Friday. I apologize, but please know that what I now do I do for you, to be better able to serve you in a faster, more professional manner in the future. Please be patient, leave me a detailed email, and I will be able to address your situation as soon as the situation permits.

Shemar, don't like it? Don't read it! I really don't care. Those who have contacted me via myspace AND email are not discouraged & we have taken appropriate measures. Simple as that Shemar. Clean enough for you?

Opinions are like a****les - thank god you are one other wise you wouldn't have one. Man up & use a name if your going to stoop to 3rd grade cutdowns. After all 1986 called & wants it's retort back.

Please nameless guest concern yourself with someone who might give a damn that you throw cutdowns like a middle schooler. Either you want help or you don't. I do & at the same time I am interested in helping those who have been in the same situation. I've taken charge of making the appropriate actions to have said help function properly. I am helping others find the same help if they care to rectify the sitation rather that blabbering on & on about "what can I do?" "where can I go?" "let's do something about being wronged!" Unlinke you who speak of nothing in a blog that obviously doesn't concern you or Shemar. I've stopped whining, took matters into my own hands, offered my assistance to those who want to band with me against this quasi-Satan who takes advantage of people who are obviously vernerable & unsure of the situation they are in. If I can't make it happen I can find who will. If that makes me arrogant then fine. Name call all you want, otherwise keep whining over being offended, increasing the hate & using a psuedonym as a name.

A agency like this, a man who has screwed how many people out of how many of thousands of dollars. and they just close the case!! I WONDER WHO PAYS WHO FOR THE BBB SIGN ALONG SIDE HIS NAME This is so wrong!! BRENNEN YOUR A THEIF BAST..RD!!! :!:

These people are horrendous. They took over a debt management plan I was in. They had no trouble debiting money out of my checking every month, but they had a lot of trouble paying my cards. They consistently paid late, making my credit much worse than it was. Then in August, they just didn't pay at all. They don't return phone calls. I am taking them to court, and I have a log of phone calls I made to them. I called at least 85 times, and I never got ONE call back. A few months ago, someone from their office called me to tell me they wanted to refund my money. This was in September, and they never did it. Now when I call to follow up, I'm back to where I was: no one returning calls.
Working with this company is the worst thing you can do for your credit.

He is going to have a class action suit against him, and at the least, he will be disbarred, so he won't be able to service your plan for long, not that he is capable of it in the first place.

I love that Richard A. Brennan has time to be on a chat room defending himself. Maybe he should use the time to write us some checks, or at the least call us back.

We all need to find a way to get together on an email list. We need to file a class action suit against him. This is our best bet. It may take a long time, but at least we get him disbarred, so he can't do this to other people.

Write back with your ideas.

Richard Brennan,

Thanks for your invitation to contact you, but that never pans out. I left you voice mails on your direct line day in and out during September, and you never bothered to call me back. I am surprised you have so much time to chat on line??

I understand your argument about the dmp clients; my question to you is this? Why did you take them on? It's not like they all dropped in your lap and you had no control over it. You took over the accounts for one simple reason: all you can see is dollar signs. And you know what, people like you end up with nothing. I hope one day you'll wake up and look in the mirror and realize you only have one shot at this life, and if you can do the right thing, it can be glorious.

Beware. These people (Brennan and Consumer credit counseling of America)have no interest in helping you settle debts. They are interested only in amassing as much cash as possible as soon as possible.

I wish I would have known about this site before I ever dealt with Richard A. Brennan/ consumer credit counseling of America. They love to beat around the bush and breech their own contract. Please somebody put this ppl out of business so they can stop scamming those who are in enough financial trouble already. Richard A. Brennan, why do you think we have SO much money that we would give it to you each month to do absolutely nothing? If we had it like that, we wouldn't NEED your services. You are a clown and you and your smart-ass employees will get what's coming to you for causing so much hell in the lives of many.

I feel so bad for the people listing here that they have had so much trouble with Brennan. I'm very glad I never have had to deal with them, but it just makes me so angry that one company or individual has the power to bring misery into so many lives with his actions.

I hope everything works out in the end for everyone.

Some of u people are crazy as hell. You accumalate this debt, in an average over multiple years, and then u expected to disappear in a couple of days, because u signed up with a someone who evidently more quailfied to handle these type issues, that most of ya'll dumb **** got YOURSELVES into.

So my thing is, if u have some many negative things to say about this law firm, then my suggestion would be take care of your business on your own, and stop ****ing and crying for something u were suppose to be responsible for, not this firm.

Hey "just breezing thru" - let me guess, you work for this theif?? Maybe what you don't understand is that many people pay their credit cards on time, pay more than the minimum, yet the cards will still increase the apr on the account. WE cannot work with the accounts to lower the APR, yet a debt management program can come in and knock the APR down to basically nothing. This is why we joined the program. Yet when this law firm took over the accounts, they decided not to make payments, and after taking the money out of our checking accounts they kept the money for themselves - they did not use it to pay the credit card companies. This is why we are warning others not to do any business with the law offices of richard a brennan, and trying to figure out how to get this money back. If you don't want to hear about these problems, don't read the posts and don't bother to write your opinions (if that's what you call writing).

Richard,
You will be going to jail for this, you screwed with a few of the wrong people, and we will get to the bottom of this, Taking money from people and not doing what a contract was said to have been done is fraud. Also I hope it makes you feel good about yourself that you are not helping but hurting people by taking there money. I can not wait for you to go down for this, AND YOU WILL it is Just a MAtter of time.

Anyone interested in getting their initial deposit back?
Remember that deposit you placed (one month). Here's the process to get 2/3rds of it back. It's not the full amount, but here's what you do.

1. Contact Client Services - It's on your contact with United Christian Financial.
2. Give them your client ID and tell them you were with United Christian Financial.
3. Ask for a "Grievance form" to get your deposit back due to "extenuating circumstances"
4. Fill out the form and explain what Richard "the thief" Brennan did. Fax the form back. Manager of the return/grievance department is David Bartlett.
5. You will get a response within about 1 week, they will take about a 30% service fee and mail you back the rest.

It's not your entire deposit but it's better than nothing...

Still working on getting my money back from Brennan... Good luck everyone.

I too have experienced many of the same events with this rip off law firm. Since oct of 2005 this firm has drafted funds monthly from my personal checking account. First as credicure and thn as brennan law firm. On december 2005 i placed a stop payment on my account to stop further drafting--the brennan law office just changed the name of the drtafting ocmpany and ran the draft through again-now i am forced to close my account and reopen a new account. I have also been served with civil warrants and now a garnishment, this has occurred because the brennan firm has taken thousands of dollars from me na has not settled with my creditors. I am now forced to file bankruptcy. This should be a crime and the brennan firm should be stopped. Where is our justice system??????

I would recommed to everyone who wants thier money back to keep calling the BBB, AG, & any other consumer advocate service to get thier money back. His "company" is based in Frederick County, MD. Maybe a few calls to the mayor's office might help.

I live about 45 miles away so I plan to go to his office this week to get my money back. I'm not leaving until I get it.

From what has been going around on this forum about him, I wouldn't send them. Not so long ago, a lady named Lisa from CCA has called me several times wanting me to sign up with Brennan. I kept telling her to quit calling, I wasn't interested, so now, other people from CCA are calling me wanting me to sign with Brennan. You can best believe, I had changed my mind quick, after reading this thread about him.

I saw a post on here about getting you deposit back from United Christian Financial. I called filled out and faxed a letter to the grievance department and never heard back and he refused to call me back but anyway he financially called and said it was a non refundable deposit even no I paid them the money the first month and then credit cure after that and only about 50% of billed got paid. my credit is ruined and I am broke from these people.
Any suggestion on at least getting the deposit back??

no lab your credit is ruined because YOU didn't pay YOUR bill, its not this companies fault. Now if they don't hold up their end of the contract then you have an legitimate business issue with them and a civil action can proceed but please place blame where blame needs to go, YOU ruined your own credit. I see so many here blaming third parties for their bad credit, go look in the mirror that is who is to blame for your credit problems not companies or entites as such

Isn't it strange how quickly they take your money, but when you tell them you no longer wish to be a client, they won't respond? I've been forced into bankruptcy because they weren't paying my creditors, but still taking my money.

This is the number I called 1-800-621-7806--it it CreditCure, talked with the first person who answered phone, I don't remember her name, explained that a**hole Brennan kept TWO MONTHS of payments totaling $1575.00 and that was the reason why I stopped the payments to him! About 30 days later I received that check--it was not the full amount of the deposit BUT I was very happy. Hope this helps

Are you a HUGE A**HOLE or what? Don't you get what we are saying? I too, was paying my bills ON TIME AT THAT! and thought I could get done faster by using these companies. United Christian Financial System, USA Debit Management, and CreditCure all did fine for 18 months making every payment on time. A**HOLE Brennan comes along in Feburary, takes over and in April payments start getting paid late. August and September never get paid--enough for me I stop payment. SCREWED $1575.00 Brennan has never giving back (he thinks cuz I'm not done yet) This jerk is a lawyer--been involved with these other companies, with some of the SAME people! Then he sends papers wanting me to give him $1700.00 to keep my account. Well "whosetoblame" I LOOKED IN TO THE MIRROR....and said I won't be screwed any more by the a**hole--who is by the way is involed once again with yet another company(Debit Management) Are you getting ready to screw more unspecting people? Hold on Brennan cuz I'm still riding to horse, I have'nt fallen of yet!! Whosetoblame, are you looking in Brennan's mirror??

that number said it was "client services". Is it the same as credicure? I was told Credicure had to go out of business as they were making a profit, apparently non profit organizations aren't supposed to charge for their services, go figure! :-)

Do full research before you sign up with the company. I have no idea about these posts you see above. Maybe, one of their competitors was trying to give their company a bad name. It might be true also.

Be proactive, understand the fine print carefully and have all points noted in it if you decide with them.
