Hi
We know that the business of FDCPA laws by a CA results legal action and the consumers can file a class action lawsuit against them.
So what happens when there are shady collection agencies like Allied Interstate Inc still in business? They call people endlessly without any details of the debts and show rudeness. They go against the Mini Miranda disclosure as mentioned in Section 807(11) of the fdcpa. The company is also famous for false representation of the accounts. You can be forced to pay some unknown account because of their wrong contact. Remember, "Allied Interstate" can be sued up to the $1000 depending upon the extent of damages.
I read many of you being victimized by this collection agency. Use the federal laws as a protection against such shady collection activities. Report them to the FTC, BBB as well as the State Attorney General office.
How many of you want Allied Interstate Inc to undergo legal actions. I am thinking of consulting an attorney and put a legal fight against them. I will like all of you to post your experiences here so that it can be documented. After browsing through this forum thoroughly, I picked some threads of their illegitimate business.

  • The illegal activities of Allied Interstate. The poster in this thread said that the company wanted to settle the matter without any documentation. This is illegal.
  • Allied Interstate making threatening calls to the family members. It is illegal as per the FDCPA laws.
  • Here is an example of Allied Interstate not identifying them and making regular calls at work.
  • This collection agency uses profane language and gets in contact with the wrong person.
  • Allied Interstate will try to force you and make a payment on the debt that is past the SOL period. You are under no legal obligation to pay the debt if it is past the SOL period.
  • One more thread about the misdeeds of Allied Interstate Inc.
  • This company does not identify properly while leaving messages on the phone. They keep calling endlessly.
  • Allied Interstate never stops. They contact persons who do not owe any money.
  • Allied Interstate reviews the credit reports without permission.
  • A thread on bombarding phone calls done by this collection agency.
  • Threatening calls starting from early morning and ending just before 9.
  • Allied Interstate harassing whole year
  • Here is the contact address and phone number details of Allied Interstate Inc.
  • Calls get disturbing for someone not related to the accounts.
  • People are getting fed up with allied interstate and their calls. No phone numbers, no e-mails just mailing address but not sure whether it is proper or not. Contacting them is really tough.
  • Confusion is still there on LVNV Funding and Allied Interstate.
  • Allied Interstate Inc not following up with the cease and desist letter.
  • Getting empowered on how to deal with Allied Interstate.
  • Harassment with "person to person"

A new thread on Allied Interstate contacting a wrong person.

PLEASE READ-THIS WILL HELP ALL OF YOU!!!!!!

Allied interstate called me screaming and verbally assualted me during the whole conversation.I have been on disability for a year now due to major back surgery.

An associate from Allied Interstate, Kelly Thunder told me "i've been on disability long enough", "It must be nice getting paid for faking an illness", "I'm taking advantage of the government", "I should be sitting down answering phones like she does","I should be standing answering phones if I can't sit" and asked "how could I afford to buy a hot tub?" (my son told her I was in the hot tub one day when she called, which she put in the phone note records to use against me later). And don't bother calling the manager, Doug Myers, to report the abuse. He gets rude and offended that you are supposively "telling him how do his job" and he "has two bosses that do that". He also said "its none of my business what happens to others"(I had told him I didn't want this to happen to anyone else). He said he "might listen to the taped conversation(when I begged while crying) after the other 5,000 things he has to do",and associates there "do what they need to do to get paid"

I immediately wrote down the exact conversation that took place with both of them for my records and sent a letter to A.I (didn't help), Better Business Bureau and I called The Federal Trade Commission. I was told to send a certified(very important to certify it for proof) cease telephone communications letter to A.I. and they are suppose to stop all phone calls to you but "Webster Crowell" called me two more times which I also sued for.

Their Compliance Dpt. is nicer but they say whatever you want to hear and act like the associates are being held responsible when another just calls and does the same thing. At first, I asked Allied Interstate for a letter of apology from the associate and company acknowledging the problem but they weren't willing to do that to make me feel better so I filed a small claim lawsuit on my own at my local court house and without an attorney. A.I. called me and wanted to offer me some money to settle out of court but I declined since it is more about them being held responsible by getting a guilty filed against them and if I accepted, it wouldn't be documented legally letting them get away with it.

I went to court today for the trial and the judge will make a decision within 30 days so she can review all of the evidence submitted. I've never sued anyone before but knew I had tons of evidence to win and it made me feel better to tell a judge what happened.

A.I. hired a local attorney that lives in my state, probably cheaper than flying one out from their state but he didn't have much to say since he had no witnesses to testify. He only had two pieces of paper from A.I. with very brief phone records. No times of calls or full names of the associates who called, just initials-very confusing to the judge. He ofcourse said she denied my accusations and said I was yelling and swearing but admitted the other guy shouldn't have called after they got the cease letter. He had no copy of the tape-that was a surprise, guess it would have all been over then.

I had more records than this huge company.I brought all my complaint letters and responses back, phone records from that day since I called family members hysterical after the call, pictures I took of my caller id with the time they called even though the number came up as 1-000-000-000 (its better than nothing),and certified mail receipt for cease letter. You should document the date, time, name and everything that happened so you don't forget.

Report it to the BBB,FTC and Attorney General's office. The BBB website offers a copy of a complaint filed with A.I. and a link to Attorney General's site with a large lawsuit filed last year where they took A.I. to court for many people-they did it all at the same time or file a lawsuit yourself because this company needs to stop treating people this way or be shut down if they don't stop.

The only way you can make a difference is to take action and if you don't want to do it yourself the Attorney's General will help. Good luck to you all and I will check in and respond to any help that you need. I will post the outcome when I get it.

I think it was allied interstate ...something interstate about collecting debt...I had moved to chicago after living in SC for some time ago. Well one day i got a letter from them ...it had a phone number on it and some digits ...for me to call nothing else I was suspicious cause I never heard of them. I thought it was another trick advertising by a credit card company but I called it any how getting another set of digits and another phone number to call. I unfortunately wrote down the numbers wrong after calling the mentioned number so I went back to the original number to retrieve my number again but it was blocked leaving a message that I have already received the numbers for my case. This was bizarre. Today someone from that company called me leaving the numbers again only no phone number to call back too and even at the end of the message said blah blah blah. Now I did just move and did fall behind on a some expenses which are closed as I have moved on, which I have been tracking down and cleaning up but ...my opinion I'll contact those I know I owe money too and pay them ...this agency sounds shady ...to me they are a scam. I haven't talked to them yet though. But from the sounds of it I'm not the only target and I just started getting this.

Nancy, has your mom sent the cease and desist letter to Allied Interstate Inc? This is a federal law that can actually force them to stop contacting you and your mother. They might be mistaken with the person they are looking for but they need to stop calling you after you have explained the facts. Don't allow them further. You can build a strong legal case against the CA as per the laws put in the FDCPA. Start recording the phone calls also after verifying your state laws. You will like to make your case stronger every way and count their fdcpa violations.

I have the same experience. They call my mom's endlessly. I have tried to work with them, but Allied Interstate Inc is totally harrassing and it is becoming annoying. I also have been hit for a Sprint bill I have never had. When I requested a copy of the bill they told me it would be sent to me, but never was. What can we do about this? I mean I have HAD IT!

Allied Interstate has been calling my number for over a year. I don't know the person that they are asking me about. I have asked them to take me off of their calling list, but they continue to call!
I would ask them to send a validation of debt, but I'd rather not give them my address or any other information. What can I do?

They have been calling for about a week for someone that has not had this number (I have owed it for 4 years). It comes up on my caller ID as "Telemarketing". I receive about 5-6 calls day starting at 9am. Every time I get the persons name and what company They claim Capital one, I do have an account with them but it has a zero balance so i know they are not looking for me. They claim it is in the system to remove my number but it will take 24-48 hrs to remove. I have been hearing that from different collection agencies for over 4 years for this same person.

Over a year ago me and my Grandmother moved into our new home, and got a new phone number. Right away Allied Interstate began calling while we were away leaving messages with no name, call back number, or any contact info. A few months ago we finally managed to get a legit callback number off of caller ID and my grandmother, called them. They told her they were looking for some man we had never heard of, and she told them her name and said that she had never heard of the man, knew nothing of him, anything. The phone calls stoped for a few weeks, then started back. This time they are using her name (mispronounced), undoubtedly because they make sure to tell you they "monitor their calls" and were able to get her name and use it to call her. We owe nothing to anyone who would use Allied Interstate. Any outstanding debts she has are either in the process of being payed or have been payed.

I have asked the call from 18772251118 to please stop calling since I have no debt nor do I know the person they inquire about I have registered with "DO NOT CALL" and filed a Complaint with the FTC lets see what happens.

This is the first time they called me and that at 9am on a Sunday morning. When I answered the phone no one seemed to be there, so I hung up and reported them to the "Do not call Registry" where I am registered and a place called "Who called me". Most collection Agencies I've talked to are nice and remove you from their call list when they found out you are not the person they are looking for.

Just an additional warning. Allied Interstates, Inc seemed to be fishing for information from me. When I got on the phone, I was immediately asked if I was so and so. When I said yes, I was immediately accused of having a debt with Columbia House (purposely named because it should be noted which companies hire Allied Interstate) and asked how I was going to take care of the debt. He said this several times and then I asked how do they know I am the correct person - my name is very common. Then the person on the phone kept asking my address. I refused to answer and responded by asking what address do you have on file. After back and forth and a yelling match - he finally gave me the address. Yes, of course it was the wrong person. I could be wrong, but I almost think that had I given my address - he would have said - oh yep that's you....

This is pathetic both the way Allied Interstate handled the issue and Columbia House's hiring of the company. Especially in today's age of a high instance of identify theft. Columbia House should also be ashamed for using this agency - making all so and so's in a georgraphic area miserable for $140.

To Columbia House, by you using this organization - you are stooping to their level. I for one, will never make a purchase from your organization because of this.

I have been getting calls from Allied Interstate looking for my ex husband who I have been divorced from since 1988. When I tell them that I have not seen my ex since 1988, they do not believe me, since he still lives in the same city as I do. I have been remarried for 18 years and have no contact whatsoever with my ex. When I ask them how they got my name and phone number, they said that since i was once married to him, they are entitlled to call me looking for information on him. They said that when they did a search on him, they found my information. They also informed me that I may be responsible for settling his debt, although they would not disclose who the creditor is. I also asked them if my ex used my social security number to obtain a loan, and they said they cannot disclose that information. However, they have my social security number right infront of them and will not give me any information on how they obtained it. And to make matters worse, I got a call from Allied Interste last week about my ex's sister, who I have also have not seen in over twenty years! I am tired of these phone calls. What can i do?

I made my final payment to Allied Interstate on May 21, 2009. All of my payments were made through Money Gram,,,documentation is no issue. My final payment was refused by Allied Insterstate. I had no idea this had happened until a supervisor named Melissa called me ONE MONTH later and said that since they failed to post within two days, my payment had been reverted back to Money Gram. I called Money Gram and they told me that an employee of Money Gram named Rose Marie had refused my payment. I am of the mindset that since they refused it I no longer owe the debt. Do I have any legal standing in this matter? She called again today and now says I owe over a $1000.00 (unless I submit the payment within 24 hours). Why did they wait a month to inform me? Are they licensed to collect a debt in Texas? Help me,,please.

I received a call from Allied Interstate today, only message was to call them regarding a debt. There was no other information. Are they one of the multitude of collectors who "buy paper", ie, buy written off debts for pennies on the dollar and try to collect the face value?

Colorado needs stronger consumer protection laws. If you want to help draft a petition for the Attorney General or the Legislature, go to HarvestCredit.colorado-online.biz.

Also looking for people who might me interested in a class action suit against them.

On the subject of debtcollectors and pay by phone - NEVER GIVE THEM PERMISSION or your Banking numbers, they will abuse them.

If paying by personal check put a RESTRICTIVE ENDORSEMENT ON THE CHECK. This is just a tiny little contract where they endorse the check saying something like "ENDORSEMENT OF THIS CHECK SIGNIFYS THAT _____ ACCEPTS THAT ACCOUNT # ______ IS PAID IN FULL."

Then get a copy of the check when it comes through and keep it on file.

I do not want to ignore this nor do I want to involved myself in bringing on a lawsuit to myself. I refuse to call them back and ask why they are calling my number.. Or should I??

No question, just a comment
You can send a cease and desist letter at any time. I owe $400 on a bill and had 4 hours sleep when they called me 2 times in a row on my home phone and 3 times on my cell phone. I called back with the call ID number. I think they are calling from another country. It makes a strange sound before the phone is answered.
I told the man I wanted the address to pay the bill. After he gave it to me I told him I was sending a letter certified/return receipt and after that he was breaking the law if he called me one time.
He went into his speech about this being a call to accept a debt. Then he said he could call all he wanted to until the letter reached them in 7 days. I told him to call 24/7 but I wouldn't answer. I told him also I could block his calls.
I borrowed enough money to pay this bill off except $300 and did that by putting a second mortgage against my house for this one and some others. I was left with this balance and they would not write it off. I planned on paying when my social security disabiltiy is finally approved.
Now it has been charged off. I have to research what credit card that was but I think it was GE
They should have wrote it off because now they won't ever see it. It hurts my credit but I am not going to pay a company I didn't make a bill with to begin with.
I asked one man what country he was calling from and he said he didn't have to tell me that!! I told him I didn't have to tell him anything either.

I was called by them as I stated in another comment. The address I was given was Allied Interstate P O Box 361774
Columbus OH 43236.
These calls are being routed to another country. That is why you will heard a strange noise before it starts ringing. Most calls for help or business is sent there anymore.
That is why when the man called me and I did answer he refused to tell me what country it was. Then I called back to get the address and that is when I heard the noise before the phone rang. I had to call 5 times because it kept dropping the call. Finally a person answered.
They say it is cheaper to have people call another country then it would be to put some of the unemployed to work in our country so they send it over there where they work for almost nothing. Way to go companies!!!
I can't even get an American for help anymore but have to try to figure out what they are saying and they have to try to figure out what I am saying. The first person I talked to couldn't pronounce Midas and had to spell it to me when I couldn't understand him.
Everyone needs work so why send our customer service, collection phone calls, etc to that country?!
I don't like owing a debt and not being able to pay it right now but I won't pay it to this company because I didn't create this bill with Allied Interstate.

I was home at my parents house for spring break and I picked up the phone and some guy asked if I was there. Of course I said no because i do not discuss my financial info at my parents house. I will call them up and talk to someone (if possible) so I can get them doing something illegal and like the last collection agency who messed with me i will have them shut down in no time thanks to the WA attorney generals office. Do not let these guys mess with you file FTC, Attorney General Complaint Forms, and contact the local police in the companies city to let them know. I got an employee fired from Tri Financial for calling me a retard among other names. Plus they wiped of my debt with no further collection attempts.

I recieved a letter from Allied Interstate stating I owed a bill from Verizon. I called them and asked them what the bill was for. They did not know. I asked them if there was anyway they could send me a itemization or something showing what it was for. They told me they could not. I asked for the number for Verizon and they would not give that to me either. I then told them I did not have a problem paying a debt I owed but wanted to make sure I really owed it before paying it. They told me if I did not pay this "further action would be taken". How can I find out if I owe this bill or not?

We keep getting automated calls from Allied Interstate. I have called them several times telling them they have the wrong person, the person they are looking for does not live at our address. The calls cease for a few days, then resume. They have no business calling us, as we do not owe them. Can I report them to the do not call list? We are on that list. They claimed they are exempt, but as we are not in debt to them, I don't see how they can be exempt, as they have no legitimate reason for calling. How do I get them to stop calling?

I received a call from a rep on Good Friday at my job and have never received a call at home or any written correspondence. She wanted me to divulge all of my personal information and wouldn't tell me who she is or what she wanted. Of course I refused and she finally gave in. She threatened to garnish my wages and claimed to have verified my employment with my HR dept. We don't have an HR dept. Nonetheless, I was able to speak to a so-called supervisor and then back to the original rep who seemed to have had an attitude adjustment. What bothers me the most about this is the debt is not on my credit report, its a student loan I thought I deferred, and I've never gotten any mail from them. The rep claimed the one letter they sent was returned to them. Hello??? I've never gotten anything to return. She also had a home phone # for me which is a # in another state over a thousand miles away that I've never lived in.

Student loan debts are a different breed of debts. Allied handles many FFELP guarantors and the USDOE. They can garnish you without a court order.

When the rep said the mail was returned to them, she was referring to the post office returning it, not you. It is your responsiblity to keep your lender notified of your current address.

I have been getting calls from Allied Interstate for about a month now. How do I go about finding out who the supposed company is that I owe? I am never at home when they call and they never leave a message. The call many times per day. If I ever get behind in any payments, my credit card companies have been very nice about reminding me via my statements. I am at a loss as to who these people are and who they are suppose to be representing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am sick and tired of your company calling my number looking for a person I do not know and doesn't live here. You have been doing this since last month. I have told you this repeatedly, but yet you still call even as of this morning 4/15/09. If I continue to get calls from your company, I will contact the KY Attorney General's Office and report these annoying calls.

How do I get these people to stop calling me? They have called on and off for the past three months and always ask for people that do not live here and that I have no connection with. I have tried explaining reasonably and threatening to go to an attorney. They are rude and hang up or polite and say of course we will remove this number from our data base. I have excellent credit and it is very bothersome to be constantly called by a debt collection agency. Help! Where is the home office for these people and are there any sinkholes nearby?

Ok I hope I don't have a big phone bill, because I called them and the lady who answered said she was looking for someone else associated with this number. I said I don't know that person and please take my phone number off their list. She said ok. (no verification or anything) Phone number I got for them is 775-319-1502. That is Nevada, I think and if i get a big phone bill what resources do I have?
