I am having some serious borderline harassment issues with the company, Cash Today Limited. They are calling me at work about every 15 minutes or so and are ignorant to the fact that I've told them a million times that I have filed (am filing) bankruptcy. They wouldn't give me a physical address and are calling from this number: 442084922780. They are leaving messages for me to call them back at 800-670-4705, but there is a constant busy signal at that number. The lady keeps telling me even if I'm filing bankruptcy I have to pay them an extension fee of 237.00.

I have told her about 20000 times NOT TO continue calling me at work and she just yells at me and tells me she'll keep calling until I pay them.

PLEASE HELP! If anyone knows an address for them that I can give to my attorney I would greatly appreciate it!

So, if choose to put a block on the id number, in the future it will prevent them from taking money out of my account that I don't have? I really don't want to close it,it's my first checking account with my fiancee'. Is there anyway that we can change the account number?

Hi lashawn

Welcome back.

Absolutely, if a company is blocked by their ID code, they can't take out money from your account, even by using different names. Talk to your bank for more details about it.

Take help of your bank and open a new account. Transfer all the direct deposits once you have the new account number. Your bank will be able to give you more information on this based on the good relations you have with them.

Roxette

Lashawn

If a legitimate debt is not paid, the lenders will report this account in your credit file and thus, it will hurt your scores.

Gather all the papers that prove that the charges made by the company are fraudulent. Once you have shown these papers to the CRA, your accounts will be placed as disputed. This will not do the damage as it would have otherwise.

Talk to your bank and ask them to place the items on dispute with the company. They will verify the items and give you the details. You can show them to the CRA and prevent your credit from being hurt.

Hi folks,

I too was a blithering idiot and took a $200 loan from these people and for several paydays they took $79 after $79 from my checking account, so after no joy whatsoever in trying to pay off the loan I changed banks.

Now many months later and after them not being able to call Me as I have changed jobs and phone numbers they finally tried My email addy which I have kept. This is what they sent Me

Received: from britney.heathmill.com ([217.33.50.66])
(I tracked this ip and will post the results later... very interesting)

Please note that we will not tolerate continued lack of response we have available a wide range of legally approved resources to pursue this debt.

Yours faithfully

Mel Franks
Manager ??? Legal Team"

Well Mel Franks seems to be a new name in the puzzle... so I called the number and got an Indian representative I was told that My debt had soared to a massive $1543 and that because I called they would reduce it to $750 and that I could pay in 3 easy payments. I asked for a physical address to send money orders to.. "we dont have an address and can only take direct bank account debit or credit/debit card... what are your bank details?"

Needless to say I would not give them My new bank details and I told them I would call back again.. then as soon as I was off the phone I passed this debt to My bankruptcy attorney as I am going thru bankruptcy anyway whats another 1500+ dollars.

But anyway I have read that Heathmill seems to own or is an entity of Leads Global and or Cashtoday Ltd, so imagine My surprise when I tracked the originating IP address of the email that Cashtoday sent Me... here are the results...

Sending a cease and desist does no good they don't play by any rules. I actually made arrangements to pay them 3 payments. They went ahead and took it all in one payment. I'm glad I am through dealing with them. If anyone is thinking about using them think twice. Try a loan shark first..........

Payday loan itself is not a safe option in order to solve the financial problems. Cash Today is doing all their business operation fraudulently, so a cease and desist letter loses its legal worth in front of them. Hire an attorney for dealing with this company in legal terms.

this is the low down on them, they employ illegal immigrants that dont have their papers and quite frankly i dont know why the british govt hasnt gone there to sort them out.
they pay crappily and there is always a complaint of some sort about your pay but because they are illegal immigrants they can do little or nothing to dispute this issue.
the heads of this company are Dan and Aaron ( jews) who camouflage this company under another umbrella name: Heathmill business services.
these people are raking in serious profits to the detriment of hard working americans...WARNING !! DO NOT APPLY FOR A PAY DAY LOAN ONLINE ... ESPECIALLY CASH TODAY LIMITED. some times they over draw from your acct and wont let u know unless u find out.
they r totally disorganized and i dont think they know what they r doing... u might speak to 10 different collectors and make different pay plans with them!! r they totally inept and can barely construct sentences in english!!! then they come up with fake names that they cant even pronounce e.g Brian, Steve, Alex, Bob etc.

I am in this sittuation too except the twist is I have paid them completely thru auto debit of my account. They are calling me repeatedly at work saying that not one of the payments has gone thru, they've been cancelled or returned. I asked them repeatedly to send me written proof of ANYTHING and a "J.Z." said that it violates company policy. He said I need to fax over a statement saying this.I spoke with my bank to confirm that payments were taken and they said they recomended getting a lawyer involoved. This is the 2nd scam I've gotten tied up in. The other being "GSI- GRANT SERVICES" What do I do? Is anyone else out there figuring it out?

Hi Trapped

Welcome to the forums.

You have all the proof confirming that the payment has been made. You don't need to worry further. It is the company that is trying to recover money from you fraudulently. They don't have legal proof to show their dispute. So, they are in the weaker end. And, consult an attorney to make your side even stronger.

Hi Torpedoman1

I will only advice you to stay away from Cash Today. They have been scamming a lot of people by making unauthorized debits and doing other fraudulent activities in the checking accounts.

Read the other posts of the members here and know their scary experiences with this company. Send a cancellation letter to the company and keep a follow up. You will be much safer by not entering into any agreement with Cash Today.

after doing a lot of reseaech, too late to not deal with these people as i had already taken the loan to help pay for kids school stuff, i have found that cash today is illegally making loans in the state of georgia. the law that was passed in georgia and that went into effect on may 1, 2005, made it illegal for these companies even those who operate online to make these loans. o.k. now that i have this information does anyone have any ideas what i can do now?

Try paying it back ASAP.

You took the loan and therefore you should honour your commitment.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Singlemom

Cash Today is a fraudulent company doing business in US. The company makes all the debits from the head office in UK. They have their call center in Reno, NV. You need to be careful from this company because they have scammed a lot of people by withdrawing money from their checking accounts.

Put a complaint against Cash Today at the local AG's office in your area. You should also file your complaint at the FTC and the BBB. The government will take necessary actions only after they have received large number of complaints from the consumers.

Since you have already taken a loan from them, make sure that you pay them the right amount of money owed. Once you have paid them back, never do any business with them in the future.

What is the FTC and the BBB office. And what is the physical address to cash today limited and their new fax number. I need all of this because I really need for to send some them some of their money in a money order and I would like to fax them a copy of the reciept when I do it. I will do not want any business with them again. I would like to take care of this. I don't work anymore and I would like for them to accept payments until I will be able to pay them. They cannot access my account because I have deposit only put on my account. May be some of you all should do that so they won't keep going into your account. I need some information ASAP so I can get these people off my back too. It is horrible how these people are misleading us into this. Please reply and to whoever started this website, thanks. I just wish I could had read it a little earlier.

Baby doll

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Better Business Bureau(BBB) records the lists of creditors, collection agencies and other financial institutions doing business in the United States.

You can put all your complaints regarding any creditors and collection agencies to these bureaus. You can also send your complaints to the local AG's office for immediate legal actions.

The address to contact Cash Today is:

Cash Today Limited
1005 Terminal Way Suite 110
Reno, NV 89502

Send your money order through certified mail with return requested. This will be the only way by which you can track down your payments sent to this company. The company won't give you any written documents made with them. So, you should be pro active before making any payments to them.

These people are crazy. I owe them money and not that I'm glad other people do to, but it's nice to hear I'm not the only one in the world with payday loan problems (maybe we should start a support group). But they are harassing me as well, and I owe quite a few payday loan places and these people are the only ones still charging me interest, so what started as a 400.00 loan has now turned into a 2100.00 debt. But I figure they will get the original of what I owe and nothing else. Payday loans should be outlawed, they are loan sharks who prey on people who aren't lucky enough to have good credit and then you get sucked in and the only way out is bankruptcy.

How long have you been having this loan from ICS? The reason I am asking is because if you keep a loan for a longer period, the interests and other charges can be tucked on the principal amount after you are paying the minimum amount. If a loan amount climbs from $400 to $2100 as interests, you definitely need to read the agreement contract. I can think that this company might not have sent you the agreement contract before sending the money into your account. Your only way is to place each of the items on dispute with the help of your bank. The company has to verify each of the debits in legal terms and credit back the excess amount.

Well it's a loan from last October, but the funny thing is, I called them just like 1/2 hour ago and told them that I had 400 cash right now to pay it and I guess it just depends on who you talk to but he was all like okay no problem send us the 400 and we will close out your account, I guess the remaining 1600.00 they all of a sudden don't care about even though they were dead set on getting it just two weeks ago. I truly believe they are crooks.

I don't understand how people can say Cash Today are 'scamming' them, did they not lend YOU the money first?

Surely a scam would mean they would take money, not lend it!

In my opinion, if you want to borrow and agree to the T&C's, then pay them back, stop moaning on sites like this about being the 'victim'. I bet you didnt moan when the $200 arrived did you......

Didn't moan at all when I got it, however the fact that they are claiming to charge me almost 1600 in late fees and then all of a sudden say no it's okay we will just take the original amount, I mean come on. And if you don't like reading about all the moaning and complaining perhaps you should spend your days on the internet reading your horoscope instead.

Happy_Customer

I can understand that you have had good results while dealing with ICS. But does that mean everyone will get same results like you got? Cummon..Why do you want to feed your words in our mouth?

If have made dealings with this company, then you are surely a customer like all of us. It hardly should matter to you if anything is said here in this forum. Or if it matters to you, your psychological approach will not be like you came up with.

It seems that you want to do the work that someone internally from Cash Today will definitely like to do in order to cover the company.

i had a loan with them ( cash today ) i e-mailed darren w and through several communications via the internet my account was resolved. so my question would be to you "have you tried to speak to someone about your situation?" i had this particular loan for quite sometime, about 16 or 17 weeks, when i made the loan our hours at work had been shortened but we were assured that they would pick up soon, they didn't, so i was stuck every week paying them their money and not having enough money to take care of my other opligations and responsibilities. my account is squared with cashtoday ltd.. I made the mistake of acting on impulse and not carefully looking into things and i paid for my error in judgement.
i would say as several others have said throughout this sight, if you are not 110% sure you can pay them back the next payday, don't make the loan. look for any alternative to your financial need at the moment and weigh out the pro's and con's first before you do anything you will regret later.
cash todayltd. is just like any other business, they are in the business to make money. we are suppose to be adults and should face our mistakes graciously and with humility. i found that by dealing with the situation rather than avoiding it they were willing to work with me in a manner that i could manage and am greatful to them for the valuable lesson i learned from this ordeal. they were not at fault for my situation, but rather i was. i chose to take their money they didn't force me to. so everybody take a deep breathe and say the name of the person that got you into this mess.

GOD BLESS US EVERYONE

Read this thread and you will get some more information about Cash Today. The address of the company is given at the post above. Cash Today is believed to be a scam. They are taking out money from the checking accounts without giving any paperwork. It is better to monitor your accounts very closely and take help of your bank in disputing the unauthorized debits made by the company.

Mickei, there are many sad stories of those who have taken the loan from Cash Today. I will advise you to cancel the loan request if you have applied from them.

My friend is also in the trap of ICS. Money is still taken out from his checking account even after paying $1500 for a $200 loan. He has already filed his complaints to the FTC, BBB and the local AG's office and is expecting some restitution.

Thanks for the address. These people have also called my cell phone and work numerous times. I admitted to the debt of $200 and wanted to make a settlement. I had been hospitalized and unable to pay them. I agree to a settlement of $400 which is still 50% interest. I realize that I signed an agreement, but I did not expect to be hospitalized. Should I or am I obligated to pay them this much interest?

I also paid them 400.00 total.they wanted 600.00 and screwed up on my debits so they settled for 400.00. I paid them, I wanted the calls to stop at work and I decided that I got myself into this mess, now I need to pay the price. I can't say that it was the way to go but, hell it was better then all the calls at work!!

KERRIE, annmarie0205 and all those who are going through similar situations... You could have avoided all these tough situations that you are now going through, if you had reviewed the loan contract properly before applying for it.

The interest charges should be mentioned in the contract copy and if it's existing, it's your own mistakes for which you will be paying. I am not letting you down on this but the fact is that you have now realized your mistakes and won't be doing the same thing again in the future.

It's very important to read the agreement copy before signing anything. If you sign without understanding the agreement, you might be facing even tougher times than you are facing at present. Leave the past behind and review the contract copy. If the interest rate that is being charged by the company is mentioned in the fine prints, pay it off so that your credit ratings improve. This should be your prime concern.
