I am having some serious borderline harassment issues with the company, Cash Today Limited. They are calling me at work about every 15 minutes or so and are ignorant to the fact that I've told them a million times that I have filed (am filing) bankruptcy. They wouldn't give me a physical address and are calling from this number: 442084922780. They are leaving messages for me to call them back at 800-670-4705, but there is a constant busy signal at that number. The lady keeps telling me even if I'm filing bankruptcy I have to pay them an extension fee of 237.00.

I have told her about 20000 times NOT TO continue calling me at work and she just yells at me and tells me she'll keep calling until I pay them.

PLEASE HELP! If anyone knows an address for them that I can give to my attorney I would greatly appreciate it!

Okay I have read all the stories on this forum about Cash Today Limited, so here is my situation. I got approved for a $200 loan and decided I didn't want to pay such high fees so I cancelled the loan, however, it still went into my bank account but I simply called my bank and the reversed it right back to Cash Today Limited. This week I started getting phone calls stating that I owe them money. UM HELLO I never took the money I sent it back. This guy from the "Legal Department" named Mike keeps calling me and calling me a liar. So I called my lawyer and my bank and we faxed over 2 legal letters and my bank statement along with a letter from the Supervisor at my bank. Even after this Mike called me and said I owe him $700 and that it's gonna keep racking up if I don't pay and blah blah blah. I told him to deal with my lawyer who in return called a Judge in my area and faxed over the same papers and proof and the Judge is ready to nail these people to the wall. Hopefully now the phone calls will stop. 15 phone calls within 10 minutes is ridiculous. Just wanted to let you all know!

You will find many other stories similar to your one which tells that Cash Today wants to steal money from the people by fraudulent means.

Since you are having the complete legal support, I don't think Cash Today will be fighting back on a baseless platform. Just be sure that you have proof of everything that happens during this time.

On 9/30/05 I took out a loan for $200 & the total charge was $279. I am guessing that's their processing fee. They have taken $79 out of my checking since 10/7/05 & they are still taking $79 out of my account. They have taken a total of $632 out of my account since that time. I was never told about any interest. I was just told I needed to pay the $279 back. What can I do to stop them from taking anymore money out of my account?

Liz, contact your bank immediately and make them aware of these unauthorized debits done by Cash Today. Your bank must be having some knowledge about the fraudulent activities done by Cash Today. They will contest the item with the company and if the item fails to be verified, money will be credited back to your account.

all of the complaints on this page are entirely True. i know because the same mess is happening to me. i get voice messages on my cellphone from someone with a very thick accent speaking superfast. i cant understand a word they are saying. just recently my bank account went so negative that the bank had to stop all activity on my account. so i spoke the guys there named Dan smith. and Justin. one guy tells me that i can't send a money order. they refused to give me an address, and told me to apply for a prepaid debit card through walmart. well i found a prepaid debit card service through my phone company but i had to wait 7 days to get it. then once i got the money on the card i called and told them the account numbers so they can take out the money on a specific day. here it is 2 days later, the money has not been taken out. i called them and spoke to justin and he told me that the company can no longer accept debit or credit card payments from anyone and to send a money order. then he was more than happy to give me an address.....

stay far away from cash today. if they deposit anything to your account, ask your bank to return it. I would consider changing my account numbers to avoid any possible problems. you could try and call them to say you are no longer interested, but as jd said watch your account very carefully. by the wat jd, nice picture:)

They just started calling my relatives i hadnt seen in like 6 years saying im in seroius trouble. The thing is i applied for a loan from them 3 years ago and never heard from them again. Now they want me to pay them ....yea right. It's blatantly obvious they are crooks. With so many people affected a class action lawsuit is possible.Even though they are in the Uk they have to abide by US laws if the business is done in US.If they call you 500 times it is illegal(harrasment) because the calls(crime) takes place(ends) in US.I'm a sherrif's deputy and familiar with harrasment and stalking laws.
I'm surprised people here are even talking about them as a legitmate business. You have rights, so take action against these scumbags. They expect those who take out payday loans not to have access to legal representaion and thus cower by there threats.
Some people state they applied for a loan didn't get the loan but got deductions on payday...That is highly illegal..that is theft and bank fraud. We need to wake up and label these people as they are
C R I M I N A L S.

You still sitting there?.........GO DO SOMETHING

I applied for a payday loan from cash today, and after reading the articles on this site I promptly called and withdrew my application. Do I have anything to worry about. Will they attempt to deposit the money into my account anyway?

Scosch, you must send a cancellation letter to the company's mailing address and request them to acknowledge it in writing. Also, monitor your bank account closely so that you are aware of every transaction. Being pro-active is the best way to deal with such situations.

April jones, I am sad that you have also become a part of this scam with Cash Today. Talk to your bank and close your checking account immediately. This company will continue making the unauthorized debits if the account is kept active. Talk to your bank as they might be familiar with this issue.

Also, your bank can dispute with the company on the debits already made. Each of them has to be verified and since you have not taken any loan from them, it should be refunded back to you. You can consider taking some legal help also regarding this matter.

Amy, Cash Today might again try to debit money from your checking account. To avoid this situation, you can think of closing your checking account and stop the company from making any more debits. Take the help of your bank and they can get these debits verified with the company. Since you have paid large amount of money, the company has to explain each of these transactions or else, refund back the money. Take the help of your attorney if needed.

If you were the loan company and you sent someone money who promised to pay it back, wouldn't you try to get it back no matter what? These guys are well within their rights to keep calling you. It was your choice to take out the loan, and your responsibility to pay it back, PERIOD!

Brittany,

I fully agree with you. If I would have given my money to someone, I would have definitely used all means to get the money back. Moreover, to cover my back, I would have got everything in writing from the person to prove that he has taken the loan amount. I would have definitely issued statements showing the payments made so far.

The fact is that I would have never done anything like Cash Today is does. They fail to give anything in writing after the loan is deposited in the account. They claim to be a paperless company and would not send any statements of payments. To be proactive is the best way to handle such companies. Those who are dealing with Cash Today and have realized the problems are doing the right thing by closing the checking account. They should not send any more money until they get something in writing from the company. I think you will also like to do the same thing if it comes on you.

call them immediately and rescind the loan. call your bank and ask them to return the deposit. Explain to them it is a payday loan and you have notified the company to cancel it. If possible fax the cancellation to the lender. but if you cant, make sure you document the time and date of the phone call.

HI....read all the post.....the sad thing is that why r u ppl taking loan from this company. anyway....the best way out is this....
first of all.....the company starts calling u when u default a payment....right....
once ur balance due amt is around $400, make sure u close the loan...
now for all those ppl who have the principle amt + high interest. when someone calls u....tell them u will close the loan for $400. beleive me...they will close it for u....
and a peice of advice!!!!
if u dont want to pay.....then dont pay.....this company is based in London,UK. They cannot do anything. they dont have any contatcs in USA, other than their physical address in nevada is to receive payments and NOTHING else...
this company has some strange rules....the more money an agent gathers from a customer, higher his commission.
i read in a few posts....the companys website is heathmill.com thats right...thats the webiste n the addy is accurate too.
but i want to ask u ppl 1 question.....since this forum is running since last august...why no one has ever taken a physical step???
sending letters and faxes wont help? u need to do something in real?
the agents who call u r workin just for money....everyone works for money....why blame them. blame the company...n never take a loan from this company again.....
a peice of advice.... when the sales rep of this company calls u for loan......just tell them....u get paid monthly and beleive me........u wont qualify for the loan.
all those ppl who r getting paid weekly....be careful....ur the ones who get ripped first...
if any of u can travel to london....then go n see the call center... u will get to know what it is.s
and for all u computer worms....dont try to track my id addy....it wont solve ur problem.....
keep this site updated abt the daily events!

So yes, I was one of the many fools that used Cash Today LTD. When you call the 1-800-680-2177 # from your statement you reach no one but an annoying British voice, who tells you to leave a message. My issue is that I borrowed only $200.00 and I have paid back $869 to-date. Ah and yes you guessed it, I can not find the wonderful contract that I signed to advise how to much I will be repaying over all. I was thinking maybe have my bank stop payment on the ACH withdrawals and see if they contact me, however, I do not want to end up in court owing $2500+. Any advice on what I could/should do would be much appreciated.

tcrawford2, if you don't take the preventive steps now and close the bank account, the company will keep on making the unauthorized debits. Your money will go wasted endlessly. Besides, the company has to show proof of your delinquency before taking any legal actions against you. You have already paid a large amount towards this loan. You must get a statement from the company showing the latest standing of this account. If you have paid excess amount, the company has to refund it back to you. Take the help of your bank and place the items on dispute with Cash Today. The items must be verified at the earliest. If you get a call from Cash Today, put your request before you further pay them anything.

My wedding is in 2 weeks. I got a loan with this company in December, and told them after I lost my job that I wouldn't be able to pay them. I wanted to work out payment arrangements. They said no. They said they were going to take my money whether I liked it or not. I put a stop payment on them with my bank. They said they were taking 560 dolalrs from me. Instead, they took 400 and my bank let it go through. My wedding is ruined... I will be contacting my attorney Monday morning and I would like to know if anyone wants to be in on it. My attorney's firm is in every state and providence of Canada. Hopefully, they will get it done. This is a horrible illegal company and someone needs to put an end to their scams. By the way I only borrowed 200 dollars, and they want me to give them 560. Please contact me at

well, i'm afraid my bank won't do anything because the stop payment was for 560 which is what they told me they were taking whether i liked it or not. i told my bank i wanted nothing from this company coming out of my account. so i don't think they will give me money back. But i paid them to stop this company from taking anything out of my account.

Mallory, explain your problem to the local law enforcement agency. Tell them that you have been scammed by Cash Today like many others and your bank is also not willing to dispute the item with the company. Ask their suggestions what you should do next. They might have received similar complaints from others, so they know how to deal with them.

I have used this company and my situation is I've already paid my loan amount in full. However, they took another 79.00 dollars out of my account two weeks after I paid my loan off. I've called several times and each one of them has told me I should receive my credit and that someone will call me. Well no one has yet to call me and I spoke with the so called manager today and he said to calm down and that it will take three business days. Which I don't understand if I was already told it would be in my account and that was a week ago. I get a different answer each time I call. What should I do?

Zac, be very careful while dealing with Cash Today. Read this forum thoroughly as there are many topics created on their name. You will find many others sharing their experiences here. Immediately contact your bank and get your account closed. If that is not possible, change the account number so that you can prevent the future debits. Send a letter to the company also explaining that the loan has been paid in full. They must send you a confirmation letter.

I have had the same experience. My cell phone rings about 10 times a day in addition to my work phone. All fromt he same number. Ironically enough, I work in a collections dept. for a Fortune 500 company and know all too well Collections Laws. These people are clearly in violation of almost all of them. The continuous calls, the threats, the calling after hours. It's insane and I really don't know where to go from here.

Cash Today never calls me and I 'defaulted' on my loan nearly a month ago. I told them that I had reported them to the US Secret Service, The FBI, The IRS, and in the UK, The OFT, The FSA, and Scotland Yard.

These people are criminal. Don't let them bully you. I am working in conjunction with the Consumer Federation of America, to ascertain the entity which funds the loans, as well as the board of directors, in order to file suit, and shut them down.

Ok, so it's been a bit and I promised I would come back and keep you all posted. I finally spoke to my bank and I am in the process of disputing the last five withdrawals, which amounts to $395.00. They have taken a total of $1027.00 on a $200.00 loan.. Call me sucker. So it looks like this will force them to call me, since we all know they won't return your calls or answer the phone. Well, that's the update and I will be back to tell the next drama.

Sorry, FKA, but I tried to work some arrangements out with them and they said no, we're taking your money and there's nothing you can do about it. My advice to you, is if you can't pay them, close your account, because not even a stop payment will stop them. They will keep taking your money until there is nothing left. People have lost thousands on a 200 dollar loan. They aren't ligate, and don't worry about your credit, because they don't have any way to ruin it. Close your account now. They will never stop.

Hello all, I've seen everyone's responses and apparently you haven't gotten these people to explain the loan to you before you got it. I understood the whole thing and have gotten a few loans from them. If you don't pay the loan in full on your pay day then they charge you a fee. You have to pay that fee even when you pay it back. Not that hard to understand. I mean it's a quick and easy way to get money, of course it's going to cost money. Duh!

autumn, the point you miss is what happens when for whatever good reason the payment cannot be made. At that point, alot of hard to track/understand issues arise that appear to conflict with the supposed contract arrangements, which by the way are, according to the lender, not available in a hardcopy format..

I understand that, but this is no different than any other "fast cash" option. Take your title to a title max and find out what happens when you miss a payment. They take your car. No questions asked. There loan is only $200, if you can't pay it back, don't borrow it.
