I am having some serious borderline harassment issues with the company, Cash Today Limited. They are calling me at work about every 15 minutes or so and are ignorant to the fact that I've told them a million times that I have filed (am filing) bankruptcy. They wouldn't give me a physical address and are calling from this number: 442084922780. They are leaving messages for me to call them back at 800-670-4705, but there is a constant busy signal at that number. The lady keeps telling me even if I'm filing bankruptcy I have to pay them an extension fee of 237.00.

I have told her about 20000 times NOT TO continue calling me at work and she just yells at me and tells me she'll keep calling until I pay them.

PLEASE HELP! If anyone knows an address for them that I can give to my attorney I would greatly appreciate it!

I have been recieving 20 to 30 calls a day from CTL and it's getting out of hand. Every time they call I ask for an address, but they hang up. I never opened a loan with them and I never signed up for their services. I sent and email to the FCC concerning their harassing calls, but I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Is there any other action I can take besides sending a letter that they'll probably reject? Thanks!

Hi Marisa

Welcome to the forums.

Close your checking account after settling the bank due if you can. This way, you will be able to stop the debits from Cash Today which increases the total amount each time.

Contact this company and ask for your loan statement. You will get a true idea of how much money is required to be paid. Then you will try to arrange a payment plan with them. First list down your income and expenses and then figure out an amount that can be extended towards the loan account. Request them to accept this payment plan as there is no other way of increasing the monthly payment.

They will threaten you with some legal actions, but you don't need to worry about it. Taking the matter to the court will not help them in getting money from you in anyway. And moreover, there are other court costs and legal fees which have to be paid by them.

Do let me know their response after you have negotiated for an arrangement.

Roxette

You have the federal rights to send a cease and desist letter but Cash Today might not pay much importance to this letter as it is not a collection agency. But still, you should send them the C&D letter.

Start recording the phone calls, along with the dates and times and name of the person on the other end. This list will put you in the stronger side and you will be in charge of filing a case against them on charges of harassment. Do record the phone calls and inform the caller about your activity if it is not permissible in your state.

Below is the address to contact Cash Today Limited.

1005 Terminal Way ste 110 Reno, NV 89502

I suggest you contact the Reno, Nevada Police Department at 775-334-2550 and file harassment charges. I spoke with them and they were very helpful in this situation. They are required by law to produce everything in writing, if they do not they are breaking the law.

I spoke with an Angela who was very helpful.

Good luck all,

I do not know who these " morons" are,but they keep calling my home every single day asking for my wife.I had asked these people who does not clearly understand English what business are you from and what is it you want to sell,I found out it is a loan company from the UK and these people sound Middle Eastern. All this week,We had been pestered with phone calls regarding this company and I had told several indivduals please remove her name and our number from your calling list. They do not comprehend.Today,They had the audacity to call again after they had pest us all day yesterday.I told them if this continues,I will be contacting the BBB and the FTC.How can I stop this intrusion as this is really annoying my wife and I?

When someone called me at work to tell me that I was approved for $200.00 and that my pay down would be $290.00, I and that I would pay $79.00 untill it was paid in full. Well on my last payment which would of been $53.00 they took $79.00 out. When I called a women told me that until I paid the $290.00 in full I would have to continue to pay $79.00 due to the loan extension at this time I have paid them a total of $316.00. This was not my understanding on the phone with the person who spoke extremly broken english and he spoke with a Indian type accent. Is there anything I can do about this? Or has anyone else gone through this with this company. Or did I misunderstant and they are within there right to continue to charge me until I pay them $290.00 in one lump sum.

Hi Jill,

Welcome to the forums.

A lot of people in this forum are having similar stories like you while dealing with this company. At this point, it is very necessary for you to close the checking account, otherwise you will keep losing your hard earned money. Since you have paid more in interests, you need a loan statement from the company. Contact the company and request for a loan statement before they ask more money from you.

Right now, the most important thing that you have to do is to clear your account and close it.

It has really been a tough time to find out the address of Cash Today in UK. Banking transactions and other auto debits confirm that they have been done from UK. Also the authorities from Cash Today have also confirmed their origin from outside the states. But they do have a call center in Reno, Nevada with the following address:

Cash Today Limited
1005 Terminal Way Ste. 110
Reno, NV 89502

Please browse through the related threads and get more information on them.

I was foolish enough to take out a 200.00 loan from this foul company several months ago. they have continued to debit my account for the amount of 79.00 twice a month. They have taken almost 900.00 dollars from me and it has barely taken me now to finally do something about it. I have called and left several messages at the 800-680-2177 number requesting a copy of my initial agreement with them, not one phone call has been returned and when I did talk to someone the background noise was impossibly loud and the mans english was horrible and his accent completely undecipherable. I feel like I have been totally violated and made a fool of. I have hired a lawyer to look into the matter, I would love to re-coup some of that money but I would be happy just to get rid of this awful company once and for all even it means getting a whole new checing account.

Debbie

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Sometimes just being left alone is better than getting anything back. Hopefully, with the help of your attorney, something can be done about this company.

You can view the discussion in this forum post, perhaps this would be of great use to your attorney.

They have been taking out funds weekly from my checking account. I finally got through to them and paid them off, but to my surprise they are still taking $59.00 a week off off me. My stop payment is working but then they will put throught a different amount so that the stop payment is ineffective. I was advised by my bank to close my account and reopen a new one. There is no way around these people.

With all their illegal "doings" it will catch up to them..has anyone contacted authorities in the UK? I am closing my account...what can they possibly do to me? I paid them off and will not pay them one more penny...all we have to do is show the UK authorities this address and read for themselves what is going on..is it worth a shot???

Con zagurs

Welcome to the forums.

It's worth giving a try. Many of us here have already informed the authorities in UK but the requests are redirected to the US Federal laws since this company is operating from here.

It's important to put consumers' complaints as much as possible. Seeing this, urgent actions will be forced to be taken.

Hope you get some positive results from your actions taken.

I e-mailed a large newspaper in the UK regarding Cash Today Limited and directed them to this site and gave them a history.
Today I phoned them and asked to have a loan statement sent to my fax within an hour, if they did not I would close my checking account. Well, six hours after, Charles from Cash Today phoned me.. He wanted to know how I intended to pay my loan off..I told him it was paid in full many times and that he was not getting a penny more..He said that doesn't solve anything..I then stated that I notified all the newspapers in London and the UK about the scamming operation and that government officials have also been notified. He said are what you telling me the truth and I said yes sir..he hung up...you can e-mail the newspaper in the UK at: ABYZ News to the following 5375(at)abyznewslinks.com

Cez, please check your credit report and see the latest standing of this account. After you have paid off this loan account, it should appear in your file with a positive view.

Cash Today is required to update your file with the credit bureau. If they have not done so far, write a letter to the company stating the fact that your file is not showing the accurate credit history because of this account. If they do not follow your request, you might have to give this legal importance.

Hi Cindy,

Welcome to the forums.

Cash Today is heard creating problems for many others in this forum. Consumers are getting regular debits in their checking account from this company. Since this company doesn't give any paperwork, it further adds to the problems.

However, we would like to hear from you in detail so that you can be guided in the right direction.

Hi John

Welcome to the forums.

It will be better to close your checking account and prevent the unauthorized debits. Later, this company will contact you because of not getting the money from you. At that point, you can request for the complete statement paid to your loan account. Talk to your bank and they will verify each debits made by the company. If ICS fails to explain each of these debits, you will have some money credited back to your account.

Also, many people are filing complaints against this company at the local attorney general office, FTC and the BBB. You also need to write your complaint to them so that necessary actions can be taken at the earliest.

I have recently just applied for a loan with cash limited but they said that the 200 loan would be in my account within one business day. It has been three days. They know when I get paid and i am scared they are going to debt my account and take my money. I have left several messages and nobody has returned my calls . So i am just going to close my account. After reading what everybody wrote about them i am do not want to deal with that.

Cancel the loan by sending a letter to Cash Today in writing as well. This will leave a written proof that you have actually taken steps to cancel the loan.

Do not give your personal information to any company before you have done some research on them. You can check for a company in the BBB and see if they have any consumer complaints. Check the attorney general office also for this purpose.

Cash Today has been scamming a lot of people here. It is advised to monitor your accounts closely if you are unable to close them. Talk to your bank in this matter and they will be helpful in placing the dispute later, if it becomes necessary.

I have dealt with Cash Today once before, and other than not being able to understand their horrible english accents, I haven't had a problem with them. I don't know why, maybe it's because I'm not declaring bankruptcy, and I can pay them back in two weeks or what. But I will say that they did call A LOT while my loan was out to remind me that I had X many days left till my loan was due. I tried to tell them I don't want them to call me and had similar problems. Not harrassment, I thnk they're just stupid.

I have been reading through this forum this morning. I recently took a $200 loan from them to help with Christmas. This was 2 days ago and the money has not yet been deposited into my bank account. I have a different phone number for them that the man I spoke to on the phone gave me, 877-539-6703. When I call it I just get a recorded message though.

This is just my thinking and 2 cents worth.

I know that desperate times call for desperate measures but I just really wish that people didn't have to fall into the hands of these loan sharks. sorry, but these fast cash places are like loan sharks. You may think its not much money at the time and will pay it back quickly but you end up falling into a cycle of things by paying minimum cause you need the money you would have used to pay it off, for something else. And then the balance just snowballs and gets bigger and bigger cause you never really have it to where you can pay and then it becomes too big to pay. They're a rip off and take advantage of people at their lowest and feel that they have no other choices. They're bullies, they are some of the biggest harrassers. We have them all over the place where I live and it ranges from payday loans to car title loans. My brother in law has pawned the title to all three of his cars. He lost one the month before last and lost the other last month. The third car is in hiding right now. nothing good comes from these places and I believe this is one of Americas biggest financial problems. I mean, look through out this forum at all the different post pertaining to payday loans, fast cash and so forth. Nothing but problems. I'm not downing the people here that have used them, by all means, I'm not perfect and have made a mess of my financial situation. Thank God for this group and the knowledgeable people here. I have learned alot and feel that I have come a long way. I still have a long ways to go as far as getting my past mistakes straightened out and paid off, but I'm more knowledgeable and know what to do now. I pray that you people here who have been involved with these type of people in the past, will think twice and seek out ALL of your options next time before getting involved with these people.

I'm sorry, hope I haven't upset anyone here. I surely don't mean to. I have had it bad, some of you here have had it much worse and I feel for you all. every one of you. We're all here to help each other out. And nothing makes me madder than hearing about someone getting harrassed. These businesses have got to know that you're pretty much rock bottom, down on your luck, desperate, ran out of options and so on, to come to them in the first place. so you already have a money problem and it shouldn't be a big surprise to them, so when you can't pay, they resort to harrassment. They don't care, they're there to make money. Thats what its about, thats what a business does. I just hope you all will consider all of your options first and try very hard not to get involved with these people. these bully loan sharks.

Shirley

Thanks for putting the straight facts about payday loan companies so nicely. Those who have made dealings with these companies are now facing the hard consequences. You have not let anyone down here. In fact, everyone will appreciate your views.

CoffeeLover, take out some more time and read the various posts on Cash Today here. If you still want to move ahead and make an agreement with Cash Today, it is your choice. But many people who have already dealt with this company have not had a good experience with them. There are many sad stories about people being scammed by Cash Today.

You can still avert the problem coming ahead. Immediately call Cash Today at 1-800-620-8796 or 1-800-990-9926 and cancel the loan account with them. Send a letter to their mailing address as well so that you have proof of the cancellation. Send your letter certified with return receipt requested.

Do not give your personal information to companies without doing a proper research on them. Your bank accounts might be at the highest risk and solving the disputes will be full of stress.

Please let us know your decision.

I was looking to get a little bit of extra cash before my next payday to help with some post-Christmas expenses. I applied at once place and was directed to Cash Today Limited. I got an uneasy feeling once I called the number and started talking to the man on the other line. He said he'd call back if we got disconnected and when he did, he asked for my social security number. I told him I didn't want the loan and hung up.

I did a search on them *after* I hung up the phone. I came across this forum and after reading some of the posts, I'm really scared they are going to try something with me. I need the money, but I'm not desperate enough to deal with people like that.

What can I do if anything? I've already contacted my bank and left a message for tomorrow for someone to get back to me. They've usually been really good to me and I'm sure they will work with me if I need them to.

I didn't make an agreement with CTL (or whatever they are called) and the only information I entered (bank, whatever) was with the site I had first gone to which was, by all accounts, secure and I *had* done a search on them prior to entering my information and didn't find anything negative there or when I did a search at the BBB.

Do I need to worry still, or did I stop it before they could do anything? I know I should have been a little smarter before even entering or calling anything, and if I can put a stop to it before it's "too late" I would love to.

Any help would be appreciated, and I hope I'm making sense.

Thank you,
Anika

Hi Anika

First of all, I will advise to do a very thorough research on any company before you give your personal and bank information. Lots of scams are happening these days and you have to be cautious right from the beginning. If you would have come to this site before making the phone call, I am sure you won't have called them even.

International Cash Today has already scammed a lot of people and is always searching for the new target. Their business is based on fraud and they want to continue it in the illegal way.

You have taken the most important step by contacting the bank so that your account is monitored. Since you have a good relation with the bank representatives, I hope they will take some extra care towards your account.

Keep us posted on this matter. Bookmark this page in the forum so that you are updated on Cash Today.

Hi dee

Welcome to the forums.

Please request your bank to block the ID code of Cash Today. If this code is blocked, they won't be able to debit money from your account even by using different names.

Your bank can place a dispute with the company over each of the debits. If the company is unable to resolve them, you should file a case and get your money back.
