Now awhile ago I posted a topic about a call I received from pre-litigations from 866-900-7694. Now today I get a call from a different lady form the same number 866-900-7694 and now she is telling me it's Bass & Associates. Seriously what is wrong with these people.
One day I get a call from a woman telling me to reach her at two 904 numbers. She then tells me she is from prelitigations/interstate wire compliance. Then the next day she calls and leaves the 866-900-7694 number to call her back on. Then today they are Bass & Associates with the same number. They proceeded to tell me i committed fraud and the papers are in the process of downloading and I will be picked up on site. She asked me if I had ever been picked up on site before. Not to mention I heard a few chuckles in the background. She told me they were going to be faxing papers over to my employers. The best part is she even gave me a case number.

Once again someone has called my office telling me they will garnish my wages. I am payroll here and I knowfor a fact they cannot garnish wages in any way. I told her not to call my office again as I stated before and she stated to me "I don't care, I'm fittin to call you right back". I told her if she calls again I will be filing a harrassment chage against her and she told me I was being rude and that she was going to hang up and call back. How can I stop them from calling my place of employment?

Send them a letter asking them to stop calling you at work. I am also currently dealing with them. My boss is understanding as he knows the situation that I am in. He told one that they needed to stop calling because we don't accept personal calls. They can get nasty but stand up to them you have rights to.

Re: Acct# 00000000

To whom it may concern:

This letter is being sent to you in response to a notice sent to me on March 8th, 2050. Please be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.

This is NOT a request for "verification" or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.

Please provide me with the following:

1. What the money you say I owe is for
2. Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe
3. Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe
4. Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable
5. Identify the original creditor
6. Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account
7. Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state
8. Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent

At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have reported invalidated information to any of the 3 major credit Bureaus (Equifax, Experion or TransUnion) this action might constitute fraud under both federal and State Laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found on any of my credit reports by your company or the company that you represent, I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you for the following:

1. Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act-reporting inaccurate information
2. Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act-continuing collection activity on a debt which has not been validated

Also during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with my legal counsel for suit. This includes listing of any information to credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there is no provided proof that it is.

REQUEST FOR CEASE AND DESIST OF CONTACT BY YOUR OFFICE: I would also like to request, in writing, no further contact, either in writing or telephone be made by your office to my home or to my place of employment, unless it is to provide validation or release of liability of the debt. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit.

It would be advisable that you assure that your records are in order before I am forced to take legal action. This is an attempt to correct your records; any information obtained shall be used for that purpose.

Thank you,

I have been getting multiple phone calls from this Bass & Assoc today regarding to internet payday loans I have that are outstanding. They are very intimidating! They stated that I have to pay them 1200.00 by the next day for restitution. They scared me so much I had to leave work early. I am a single mother of 2 w/out child support. I want to pay these debts back but cannot afford to pay them 1200.00 in one day let alone 2 wks. Are these people legitimate lawyers or is this some type of way to scare people into paying? I am so scared right now that I have no idea what to believe.

Swmfan don't worry. These people are doing to tell you a lot of things to scare you. I was scared to death when I got my first call. First off search and see if the company is legal in your state. Second search on this website about what others have done in your state. If they have threaten you with going to jail you need to file a complaint with the Office of Finanical Institutions in Florida. What they are doing is illegal. Also to read up on them read some posts from Anthony Lemons he knows a lot about them. Just take a deep breath and relax. You will get through this.

Everyone who recieves a call from Bass and Associates, report the same thing; that they threaten the consumer with arrest. Please understand that this is illegal for them to do. Next time they call, let them know that you are contacting the Florida Attorney Generals office immediately, since they are under investigation currently. Please look at my site for all info. on these crooks.

Hello everyone. I posted back early MArch this year. I guess around the 5th and 6th. My brother had an supposed account with them prior to his passing. Well, since then we(his estate), have filed all the paper work and even had a court order to have them provide proof of the debt and to disclose all the fees and details. Guess what?? No proof ever showed. I even spoke with them about the aspects on the phone. I had to go to Florida on a business trip and explained to the female I spoke to that if they are a legit company they would have no objection to me stopping by there during my trip to pay the bill. I went to the address they have listed and there is NO bass & assoc there. I even asked a local postman if he knew of the company and asked the local post office, no clue. They must not have a business account with the USPS. They called again while i was in FL. I advised i was in town and would love to stop by and pay the bill in cash to them, they were dumbfounded and would only demand that I pay over the phone. The guy threated to download paperwork to have my brother picked up or me since i was "hiding him" I asked what police stations hould I report to for the arrest. The guy hung up!!! The lawyer handling my brothers estate also has made several attempts to work with them and even got a fax number to send all the proper paperwork to and it didnt work, go figure. Thanks to all of you for the information you post here and all the hard work and research that goes into this post. These BAss & Assoc folks are nothing mroe than vultures and beleive that most people are stupid and guliable. If you stand upt o them, they will run like a school yard bully. Good luck to everyone!!!

Thanks so much for posting this info, and let me express my sympathies first for your loss. I am sorry that with everything else I'm sure you've had to deal with, you had these parasites on top of it, which can not have been a pleasant experience.
It would have been funny to ask them how a dead person is downloaded--and if they had picked him up, the funeral expenses would've been on them!
But all joking aside, these people will stop at nothing, short of collecting from the dead and their own mothers!
The other thing is these people have got to be making the calls from somewhere, so they have to have a boiler room setup somewhere and we need to find out where it is. I can't believe they would be calling from their personal phones.

Thank you for your kind words and to everyone else that has expressed them as well. I have been in cotact with a friend that works for a major cell carrier. Thankfully he works for the same carrier that they are contacting. I am working diligently to have them traced back and getting the carrier, ACB, FCC, AG, BBB & any other acronym I can think of. I will keep you guys posted on what the out come is.

I was called by someone named DW GRIFFEY regarding a payday loan that I want to repay to the original creditor, Paragon. And she wanted to know what street my work place was located on so that she could serve me with a summons if I dont pay today. My question is, can they do that? Can they from Florida or wherever they are located send something to my state of california and have someone come into my workplace and serve me with a summons? Please help.

Be informed of your legal rights. You have the rights to ask for debt validation when a CA is collecting on your account. Don't give out your personal info to Bass and Associates because they are the ones not to be trusted. They are famous for their illegal collection tactics. They don't have anything on your account. If they do, ask them to send it to you in writing before you decide to pay. They are just making threats thinking that you will get scared and pay them. Instead of dealing with Bass, try to deal with the original lender

I wish I would have found this site last night because I got scared and sent them $655 because they had me so scared. They wouldlh't tell me what company it was for and demanded my husbands name and place of employment. Do I have any recourse?

You need to file a complaint against them with the Attorney General in Florida. They have violated the fdcpa by threatening you. This company is nothing more than frauds. I think I remember reading something on here that they are being investigated. Bass doesn't want to give any information. They just like to scare people into paying way more than what is owed. Did they demand you wire the money? If so, and they used money gram, you can file a fraud complaint through money gram.

I was contact by them and the following number showed on work caller ID-1-904-425-3028. Looked it up (basic search only) and it is a non published number. But is a land line and is owned by Florida Digital Network and is located in Jacksonville, FL.

I appreciate everyones support. I looked up both the Florida Attorney General and fraud complaint for money gram but I am not having much luck. If anyone has the numbers and contact persons I would greatly apprecite it. I will continue to look but if I don't have to "reinvent the wheel" that would be great too.
I know it was ridiculous for me to be intimidated by these people but I will not let it go.

Thanks again everyone.
Judy

Now they have the United Federal Bank(well some one calling that is representing them). The guy barely speaks english, someone needs to explain to him we are at war with these people and the last thing they should do is call us demanding money...the number that displays when they call is 305-433-8364 but no name and they will not disclose business information....these people stop at nothing...

I have had similiar calls from Bass & Associates. I admit I owe a debt and I intend to pay it off. However, their collection tactics are illegal. I've done my research. Don't let them scare you into thinking they can put you in jail because they can't.

Today, I recieved a call from a guy by the name of John Strickland from Bass & Associates Division 310. In which they tried to tell me that I committed bank fraud. I know I haven't. If so why haven't my bank notified me. I haven't recieved anything from them stating otherwise. I just got off the phone with my bank and no such thing has been spoke of.. Matter of fact they didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I agree at how unprofessional they are. They CANNOT call and harrass you at your workplace or anywhere. IT'S THE LAW. While they are trying to scare you let them know that. For those who want a copy of the legal paperwork reply back, I'd be glad to post it.. I sent this to them and they stop calling and harrassing me.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Thank GOD for this forum...and I am not religious. Paul Epstein called me and I believed him in the beginning until I started doing some research. I called him back to let him know that I would be contacting my attorney and he will be contacting them. I also wanted debt validation. He got really huffy with me and then told me I needed to seek counselling. What a freak!
