i am in quite a jam. i have 8 pdls and have been paying every 2 weeks since late nov. i just can't do it anymore . i did pay one off completely but i can't keep up with the debits from account anymore. i did go to my bank today and asked them to stop the ach debits but that required me to fill out a dispute form.

Horizon responded to my email (that I send everyday) saying since my last payment was blocked they sent my account to Zardam for collections of $390? Should I go ahead and contact them or wait until I hear from them? I borrowed $300 and paid $540 in fees. Horizon offered to settle for another $130 before I sent off ACH revocation letter but I don't think I should pay them any more $. I live in Iowa and they are not licensed in my state so illegal and I only owe principle. From what I've read this Zardam will start calling me day and night, home and work.

On Nov 4th 2011 I logged onto the internet and looked for Pay day loans or Bad credit loans. I Applied to 15 or so sites, all which were offering $200 loans with CRAZY interest rates. I did not go any further/pursue these loans any further. I noticed in my email, under spam, that two companies, TIOR and Vandalier, sent me notifications that I was "approved" for a $200 loan. I didn't think anything of it and deleted them both. 2.5 weeks later I received a letter from my bank informing me that I had two $60 withdrawals along with overdraft fees.

Ok so step one was successfully completed! Piece of cake! Step two I'm having more of a problem with. I was able to send my letters out to everyone except 123wages (only contact they gave was a number) and payment direct whose website just says they have no website or contact information. Do I just wait for these people to call me and let the arguing begin?? I'm patiently awaiting emails from everyone. I'm thinking by the weekend all hell will break loose and they wi begin harassing me, so I would prefer not to answer the phone...for anyone.

I live in Maryland and took out 3 Payday loans for Christmas. I have paid nothing on the principle. I have added up the cost of each and they add up to what the loan was plus the loan fee (2 week finance fee) and then some. The fee is for every pay period. It is getting to be a pain. Am I still obligated to pay them any thing else since in Marylad, payday loans are illegal. I thought they would at LEAST send a cease and desist letter to those companies (which then in turn I could send to the so called debt collectors for them), but all they sent me was a too bad so sad form letter stating illegal companies cannot collect in FL and to check my credit report frequently! Back in August I took out a $600 loan with American Web Loan. In December, I sent them the standard ACH Revocation/Wage Assignmment letter. They ignored the letter and continued to try to debit my account after I had stopped my direct deposits. They never attempted to contact me when the payments were being returned for NSF ( I was able to stop my direct deposits before closing my account) but once my account was closed, tehy suddenly started calling me. The first call was on January 25.

Last year I sought help from this forum to remedy multiple payday loans. I sent the letters and filed complaints in the State of Maryland where I live. After a recent huge tragedy in my life, I turned to more payday loans this year. Now I am faced with the same problem all over again. My question is what happens if I default again? Is there a legal issue with taking loans out that I knew were illegal in my state? I have repaid the principal amount of all my loans at this point. But I am scared at the consequences of doing this again. Someone please help me!

I was just served papers at work by a sheriff saying that I have already been sued. I had no idea that this was going on or that there was a court date. Is there anything I can do at this point?
