Wrong number

I have been called at least a total of 12 times by this company wanting to speak with a Hu Lyn. I am a white Caucasian female who has had my phone number for 7 years and have asked them to stop calling me at least 6 times. Every time they promise to stop calling. As of the message I was just left, they are not honoring my request. Who can I report them to for harassment and running up my phone bill.

Firstsource Advantage/LVNV

14 years 7 months ago
I just received a letter from Firstsource Advantage saying they are willing to settle. However, I have paid off ALL of my credit cards already. I currently am credit card debt-free, and do not have any current credit cards. My question(s) are: 1) How did they find this information? 2) What should I do? Thank you. Very concerned, Michael

credit card consolidation

This site is very informative and useful to us. It can help us in many ways. There are many benefits to consolidating debt. If you wish to reduce the amount you pay each month, you may be able to repay your new debt over a longer period of time than your original debts, thus making each payment smaller. Of course, this means you will be repaying your debt for longer, and you may therefore pay more interest than you would over a shorter repayment period. Link removed per TOS. ~OG

mortgage reaffirmation after modification

14 years 7 months ago
I filed bankruptcy in 2005 before the laws changed. I did not include my house or car. In 2007 the loan was purchased by CitiMortgage. In 2009 I lost my job and applied for the Home Affordable Modification the Government set up, however after 5 months of trial period payments they deceided to decline because they could not verify 6 months of income (unemployment), yet I was on it for over a year. After getting back to work I was eligible for a regular modification which ended up adding 10 yrs to my mortgage.

Anyone with recent experience with Asset Acceptance LLC?

14 years 7 months ago
I received a letter today from Asset Acceptance. It read "It is our pleasure to welcome you as a new customer of Asset Acceptance LLC. Your account with the above mentioned creditor has been purchased and is now owned by Asset Acceptance LLC." And then the normal you have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt statement. The creditor they mentioned is HFC. I'm sending them a validation letter, certified with return receipt required. My question is has anyone had recent experience with these guys? I'm trying to figure out what to expect from them.

Garnished wages...we didn't even know we had debt!

14 years 7 months ago
hello...we got a notice today that we (my husband, actually) has an unpaid balance from a credit card of $5271.50 from 2006 (before we were together, i was aware he had bad credit...he's really great now though). he had settled/paid/dealt with creditors back then and thought he resolved everything. NOW, 5 YEARS LATER, he gets a notice that they are garnishing his wages...we have NEVER received ANYTHING about this balance...never knew of it! We are VERY on top of things and would have been making payments...so after 5 years of NOTHING, we are now looking at $8420.17!!!
