my credit report for apartments show I owe for 2 different apartments My Husband recently died I am trying to get into a senior apt.But cannot because of this. I received info on claim your cash. Does anyone know what a JDB usually gets when they buy a debt portfolio. Do they get enough information to know the debt is actually out of the SOL? Do they get the last XXX number of statements? Do they actually get the full payment history? Do they usually get a signed contract with them, or at least a copy of the actual contract that was signed? I know these portfolios contain hundreds if not thousands of debts, so i am not sure how much information you could actually have on each one of them.

can someone please explain to me how do these debt collectors call me with their number showing as a local number from my city, but then they give me an 855- number to return call, which is in another state? I had my phone number changed at work because these people kept calling me at work and now one of them has somehow managed to get my new number. A woman with an accent called from CPD, the number that showed up on my caller id was 336-678-7016, which seems to be a landline from my city, but the number they gave me back to call was 855-227-2728.

Has anyone had any success with getting a PIF or refund from loanpointusa.com? To date they overcharged me well over $2000. I have sent out my C&D letter and filed my complaints against them but have heard nothing back from them.

I would never do business with this company again. They have problems keeping up with customers' calls. They are not good listeners and are often rude when they are questioned. I ended up negotiating directly with a few of my creditors and am sorry that I didn't do that with all of them. Turns out, you can do for yourself what they do and save a lot of money that you would be paying in fees to them!

We are 58 days past due on our Bank of America Credit Card. Yesterday we received a letter in the mail from a company named Penncro Associates stating they have "been authorized by our client to resolve this debt" To date I have not spoken with BofA regarding my account 1. Should I contact Penncro or BofA to settle our debt? 2. When should I contact them? It seems that it got sent to collections so soon. I thought we should start negotiating sometime after the 90 day mark but before 180 days. Thanks for your help!

I was just contacted by the TAkhar Group. Thay called to collect a "debt" from Columbia House and as I haven't had an active account with CH for at least 10 yrs and nevr got a bill from them as I paid the balance and closed the account. Takhar Group has contacted me 2X once by mail and once by phone. How do I get rid of them?

The Takhar group has been calling our office and leaving messages on our voice mail for several months now. Today I happened to answer the phone when they called. They are all prerecorded messages demanding that their call be returned. There is no opportunity to speak to a live person. After the message plays they simply disconnect. However, they never indicate who specifically they are calling or what it is about. Our office has just been ignoring the calls. They can keep wasting their time as no one here knows who it is they want to speak to. Any other suggestions?
