Is an "electronic signature" valid ? I.E on a payday loan given to a person out of state (NY). And if given to a person in NYS can they get a judgement in this state since payday loans are illegal here?

I had a Macy's account that I settled thru a collections attny (Javtich/Block) for $1600 on a $2300 balance. My letter from them states the "account will be settled in full" upon receicpt of payment. On my credit report, the account is not mentioned as "settled" anywhere and they are still reporting a balance of $632. I called them and they said they will always still report balance on settled accts. Are they legally allowed to do that?

I was looking at the LA OFI website http://www.ofi.state.la.us/ about Payday Loans and it outlines the fees that can be charged (no more than $55, can't roll over loans without paying 25%, etc.) This loan was for $400 but the LA website says the max you can borrow is $350.

Does anybody have the e-mail addresses for Four Seasons Cash or American Web Loan? The e-mail address is not the same that you go to apply for. I am trying to send out letters.:-?

I am just filing for bankrupct i am unemployed and have been unable to pay my bills. I had a kay jewlers card and bought a ring which has since been given away and I do not know where it is. I get about 10 phone calls from them a day telling me i need to return the merchandise or pay off the card. I obviosly dont have the money or i would have in the first place. I have let them know i was going to do bankrupcy and they inform me that I will still be lible for the debt that it cant be written off in bankruptcy. is this correct

I just got a call from Avante USA and the guy asked for my account number, when I told him I dont have a checking acct, he then said "well how do you pay your bills" I told him by money order. He said what about your husband " I said my husband is not here" he said "what is he in Iraq or something, I said no, and that's none of your business where he is at, he said oh that means he's incarcerated, I said no he's not" and hung up. Believe me they will hear from me

i have received at least 2 calls from individuals requesting that I call this company Capital Associate and square away my debts. I informed them I have contracted a payday loan help company to deal these individuals; they keep tell me that we have to serve me some paper at my job or my house is I don't take take care of this, but they never have identified themselves as police officer or any type of law official. When I do contact the company (legal dept) she claimed that they don't work with consolidation company and she will work out a settlement with me.

my wife is receiving harassing phone calls from a collector for a payday loan. We recorded one of the calls, where they threatened her with jail time and said she would have to pay restitution. He said she had passed a bad check and that was a crime. I know very well that defaulting on a payday loan is not the same thing as passing a bad check, and we let it go. Then she got a message from a guy saying he was from the warrant processing department threatening an arrest warrant. Again we ignored it.
