I am 100% totally disabled. I am in dept over $25,000 to 2 credit companies. Can the garnish any payments from my Social Security disability check or from my disibility check I receive from the company I worked for when I became disabled. The credit card colection agency's call almost every day. I cannot pay them any amount of money unles I go without medication, or food, or rent..etc.

Anyone have any experience with hardship settlement on Nordstrom Bank credit card?

Ok now I just got an email from ExtraFunds.com stating that they are legal, my loan with them was $300 and I've paid $90.00 on it they are saying I owe $535.00 but will settle for $300.00 and they will consider the loan paid in full.. I will put the email they sent me and would love some advice on how to deal with this company.... I was forwarded your account from Amy P. in our collections department.* I want to clarify with you that we are legal, and are able to lend to people in Illinois.

Hi I have 5 payday loans and I live in New York State! All of them seem to be from illegal companies... National Money Store, My Cash Now, Loan Shop online, Ameriloan and United.. Besides what I borrowed how much do i owe them.. I have had loans for all of them before the most previos ones have have paid way over what i owed them... I closed my bank account and and now in the process of sending out the letters what do i do after that:eek:

How would consolidating my debt affect my ability to Buy my first home.

I am having a bit of trouble with the little icons next to the posts, the ones that list new posts, hot topics, etc...I have noticed they are not updating, like when I have read a thread it still shows it has unread posts...makes it very difficult to keep track of what I have looked at and haven't looked at. Is there something i can do to make it work right?:D

What can I do to eliminate either one of a wage garnishment and holding my tax refund for my defaulted student loan? My wages have been garnished for 13 months and my tax refund has been held for two years. I am a single parent and my daughter and I are living in a shed, literally, as a result. My mother is letting us live in her storgage shed because I can't afford to pay rent or utilities now. I had to cancel the insurance on my car because I could not afford it either. Either the wage garnishment or the taxes being held wouldn't be too bad, but having both withheld, is hurting alot.

today at work i got a call saying that i owe650 give are take but they will settle for 450 give are take. one called my house and said that they were a law firm. asking for information. i gave out some of my infaormation. but i'v already paid them i don't know what to do please help.me.:(

90 days late and today I answered one of the many daily calls from Citi. I told them I wanted to settle. They offered me 65% as long as I can pay over 90 days. I asked if they could extend the payment time, and he said that with my card (AAdvantage) it wasn't an option. Can't pay off 65% in 90 days, I don't have the money. I have been reading through these posts I see that lots of people are waiting 120+ days before they settle. My biggest concern is being taken to court. I was taken to court by Chase for a 3k balance. Advice?
