can u get sued by trs recovery? trs recovery called saying I owed 650 dollars that not including the 52 dollar returned check fee and saif if i do not pay them they will sue me and when i tried to make a paymen they said it was unacceptable and i had to pay them in full and are they suppose to say that they are gonna sue me if i dont pay them ......what should I do about this matter?????

I live in the state of Pennsylvania & took out a $2500 loan with Brookwood Loans. My payments are $216 monthlywith a 96% interest rate. The first month I my payment, but my loan is back to where I started plus more. Is this high interest rate legal in the state that I live in? Is there anything that can be done with this company? Also does anyone know if this company settles for a lesser amount or works with a debt consolidation company?

I lost my job without any notice, I applied for unemployment and 1 week of unemployment was 1 day of work, So I am 55 and jobs in my field are few, Unemployment with pay rent and util, but thats about it, Should i just file bankrupt or just deal with phone calls and see if I can ever catch up? i started getting calls from a collection agency recently for an old credit card debt. I was told by the original cc company long ago that someone had used my card to call out of country or someone had called FROM out of country..can't remember which it was and that's what this debt is. i was naive and didn't follow through on it..just thought they were taking care of it and evidentally did not. next time i heard about it i contacted the cc company and they said it was my problem (in 04 or 05). I didn't have the money to pay the 200 some dollars so didn't.

I live in Wisconsin and have a loan through The Cash Store and one through PLS Loan Store and also the cash haus dba carlisle group. I was wondering if anyone has worked with any of these companies and what the outcome was. I closed my checking account already and I was wondering if interest stops after default and how long it takes for them to make arrangements for you to pay as I was told The cash store does NOT do payments.

This company :LVNV FUNDING LLC shows up on my credit report. I have never heard of them and they have never tried to contact me. I say that because it's not hard to find me if someone wanted to. They showed up in 2006. If I owe money to someone wouldn't they contact me? What can I do about it. They're ruining my credit.

I had several payday loans (1+yr ago); quit paying after principle, they recently took money out of my checking account (which is a different account than I used for the loans). Is this legal? I live in Indiana.

I apologize in advance if this was covered in another post and if so, please direct me there. I wanted to know if Debt Management programs hurt your credit report/score? I have been on a program for just over 3 years now and will be completing it by the summer 2011. I haven't seen my credit score in almost 5 years and when I check my credit reports each year, I'm a little confused about how they designate those accounts as "closed by consumer" I have other credit cards that are not on the program, a car loan and a student loan all in good standing.

Have CC debt with PRA, did make 1 payment back in 2008, they bought my debt from Providian in 2006. Need to re-fi. Do I ask for letter of Debt Valadation before contacting Portfolio Recovery Associates? Since I made 1 payment am I eligible for SOL?
