I transfer property to my parents for less. So I could get state health insurance. 3 to 4 months later lost my job. I wasn't in trouble with my bills when this happen. Always paid on time, and now after 11 months. I have to pay back taxes, and bill collectors tried to serve a summit to me. I don't live at my parents anymore. Do I have to receive a summit before they can take me to court, or can they just get a default judgment against me. Will they take my parents property away from them. Even though I wasn't trying to fraud them, just wanted health insurance.

I am new to this forum and am preparing for filing for Chap 7. I have a vehicle and it's worth $10,000 (and it's paid in full). I live in AZ and have spoken to two BR attorneys. They both say that I am only allowed to keep a vehicle worth $5000 or less. I told them I would like to keep it - so they said that I had to have a secured lien placed against it for about $5200. To do this I could either have my parents do it and or an auto title loan company (these scare me to death!). This sounds a little underhanded to me.

I ve been over my head in PDL's for a long time. Its reached the point where i can no longer pay basic bills. I simply cannot afford to keep paying these PDL's. They are storefronts in Kansas,all are legal to my knowledge. Can/will they bother my references,workplace,family,etc??? This would cause me a TON of stress. I hope someone might have past experience with this. Will some of the PDL companies sue or some dont? I assume it takes 30-60 days before they take you to court? How do I find a good debt consolidator? What are pitfalls I should look for?

I responed to an advertisement by a Gas station owner selling his Gas Station business at Danville, VA. The owner tricked me into paying $ 8000 in advance on a verbal assurance that in case I decide not to buy the business then he will return the amount. Fortunately, he signed a receipt. As I finally did not like the deal so I backed out of it but the owner is now making lame excuses in returning $ 8000 that I paid. I have filed a warrant in debt case against him at District Court, Danville, VA. The hearing is in 2nd week of Nov.

Cingular apparently has a fake debt on me for 1500$. I know nothing about it and am not going to touch it. I left them 4 years ago.They sold the debt to a collection group. Have never heard from them. Whatever. The account was in Washington at the time and now I live in another state. They closed the debt to collection a year ago. Is this a Washington thing and how long is the statute of limit there..?? or is it in this state nearby?? The collectors cant do interest can they?Can they get away with that??How long at the most for this to die..??

Just received a recorded phone message from this company. They did not ask for anyone at all, just asked us to call the 800 number. Have been receiving a recorded phone message on and off for the past few weeks, but have not responded since we have no outstanding debt and no individual was asked for (but I believe the previous phone calls were from another agency). We have received no letters at all. Is this on the up and up?
