I have a XXX charge card, i did not pay my balance in full about two years ago, then i moved to another place and totall unaware of this 50$ balance. now i find out in my credit report that they sent this debt to its collection department on March, 2009 and they continue report "late payment" each month to credit bureau until today! so are they allowed to do so after my account was settled? am i double hit? thanks Niza

I just posted this under debt management by mistake. Sorry if you come across this twice:?. Just saw that Arrow Financial was trying to sue me for 1144 for an HSBC card that was charged off in May 2007 for 484. I then paid this account in Jan.2008. Apparently, the same month, it was sold to Arrow. They then tacked on fees bringing the total to 1144. They are now trying to sue me for that amount plus court costs. I do not have records showing that I paid off HSBC any longer.

I have about 11000.00 in CC debit both cards are with Chase. I Just received a letter on one of the cards stating my interest rate will jump up to 28.99% from 10% for future purchases- I have NEVER been late on any of my payments since having any CC's or debt for that matter. I do not understand why they would increase my interest rate. They increased my interest rate from 5-7% about 2 years to 10%... I called and argued with them at the time and was told there was nothing they could do, they were increasing everyones..bla bla bla..

Okay, so long story short, I was an idiot in college. I fell victim to a couple of credit cards' "You've been pre-approved for a low-interest student credit card" schemes and applied for them. At first, I just used them as a way of getting some credit, making small purchases and paying the balance off in full. Then my financial situation changed, and I started needing to use them for basic needs and I wasn't able to pay off the full balance. I kept paying what I could for as long as I could, but eventually I couldn't even do that anymore.

I suggest everyone call the FBI and report them. They sent a letter to MY DEAD FATHER, they changed the middle initial but the address was correct. He owned them no money and when called, they refused to validate the debt. I contacted the FBI and reported them. I hope they are run out of business
