I have reaffirmed my car loan 3 months back. However, I have lost my job few days back. I don't think I will be able to make the payments to the creditors. What will happen now? Can they take my car away? What should I do now? Please help.
tried to settle with citi on 11k today 1st time between 45 days late on payments only offer me a 90% payoff or 1 year no intrest for $114 a month. Will they do better next month?
I signed up for Idenity Guard so I have access of my wifes and my credit bureaus. I pulled her first because she is a little better off than me. Her ficos are as follows. EQ 581 EX 614 TU 540. We hope to qualify for a mortgage in Feb 2011. This will be 3 years after our forclosure. I found a couple of items I would like to despute. I'm really not sure what to send and in what oder. We live in CA.
Here is what she has that's bad.

Wells Fargo Auto Finance.
Okay, so after a bit of research here and on other sites it sounds like United Recovery Systems is a bit of a slimy company? the woman I spoke to on the phone from there last week seemed pleasant though, so go figure? Here's a bit of the back story:
Last year I broke my back and was out of work for several months, I contacted my two credit card companies and they both did little (waived a couple fees). Both cards were near maxed as it was so they quickly snowballed.
I sent Paydaymax and Credit Protection Depot the C & D letter three weeks ago and since then they have locked me out of my account online. It's been 12 days since the payment was supposed to be taken out and I haven't heard from them. I still owe $120 in principal and offered to pay that.
Should I be contacting them regarding my account or should I just wait to hear from them? I know they received my faxes as they locked me out of the account but what now.....??
So I have been working on settling my debt for over 5 months now. Here is what I have and the status of each:
* Chase $7085 -- just went to Weltman, Weinberg & Reis (they are just trying to collect at this point. Not sure what to do ... settle for lesser amount? Try to do payments to pay balance off per month for next 5 yrs?
* Citi $18400 -- just received settlement offer today in the mail.
Alliance Asset Management (AAM) is a collection thug tied with CashDirect Express. When the person on the other end of the line told me I had one hour to get my banking info, I had some red flags shoot straight up.
Also, if anyone inadvertently gives out even a bank name and their account number, it's only a matter of time before they find the routing number. Just a heads up.
