I have just spent a couple of hours reviewing posts in several threads. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that all of the payday loans I have are probably illegal. I thought they could charge what they do because they know you need the money and can get away with it. Over the past few years I have paid several thousands of dollars in the payday loan nightmare.

Can I consolidate my student loans on this program? Will I be able to still keep my credit cards?

I am 65 years old and only get social security as income. I have not worked since 2008 and even though I am able to work, no one will hire me. I got a phone call from Frederick J Hanna and they said they had mailed me a letter which I didn't receive. She then asked me my date of birth and then she said we will go ahead and start litigation. I told her that I get food stamps and other public assistance and that I will not be able to pay any debt they say I owe. I sent a cease and desist letter and a DV letter. I live in Maryland and they are saying they are going to sue me from Georgia.

If you are able to view my history with B of A, you could see that I have been a long term customer of the bank. And with that stated, a number of health issues have prevented me from maintaining a position with any company. SO, a week after I sent all the letters, I heard back from 500fastcash about my loan. I am not sure what to do now, they are honoring the ACH revokation and offering to only pay the principal if I pay by 9/24. Can they still charge the finance fee if I don't pay it by that date? Also, if I can't pay it by then which I probably won't be able to pay the full amount - if I had that money, I wouldn't be in the predicament I am in. What happens with payday loan collections? Is it the same with other collections or will they try weird stuff?

My wife co-signed a student loan for her brother several years ago. He has not finished school and is not paying his loans, especially not the one that my wife co-signed on. The loan was through Citizens Bank and is now in default and in collections with Mercantile. One of their people calls my wife very frequently and is very rude when he calls. We understand the effects of co-signing and realize that we are every bit as liable as her brother. The loan is for about $8,000. We called Citizens to set up a payment plan and they said we could pay whatever we wanted, so we paid $100.
