I had a credit card through Target and one day received a letter stating that I owed RJM Acquisitions LLC for this account. I was giving 3 options to pay off. Target was still listed on my credit report. So not knowing what I know now I entered into an agreement to pay them for this debt. During payment the Target debt was removed from all of my credit reports, but I am still making payments to them. Also my last statement they have added my maiden name to the center of my address label. how did they get this, was it obtained illegaly.

My question is can I still work out a settlement after charge off or are they going to sue right away? I'm at the 180 day mark but will not have money to settle until November due to settling with Discover yesterday. I have 2 cards remaining: BoA $13,000 Wells Fargo $5,000 Should I call them and see if I can make arrangements for November? Can I still work out a settlement after charge off? I have settled: Citi and Chase and recieved letters stating "account settled" I was able to work a 50% deal with Discover yesterday for $2,500 from $5,000.

I signed up to fia before I knew what it was. I am 82yrs old and retired. What do I need to to do to cancel them? They are sending me blank checks with my name on them. that I did not ever reguest or sign forthem to send me these. What is the first thing I need to do? My last request was for them to call me about this.

I have a question regarding the fact that I have been layed off (temporary) and want to know how to handle payday loans. I have had to file for unemployment benefits and I have the paperwork to show this, I also have a letter from the Texas workforce commission showing that I am entitled to unemployment, and what I am eligible for. I am in the process of closing down my checking account based on the fact that there payday loans that I have are illegal. Has any one dealt with payday lenders and working out payments plans with them since I am now unemployed.

I have a report of a debt on my credit report that should be expiring(end of 7 years) and removed from the three credit agency reports, soon. Does AAC send a 1099c for the debt, when it is no longer reported? They added about $16,000 interest or fees to this debt that was only $4,000 at credit card write off time.

Hi, I am at the end of the process with Chase. They have my account in Pre-litigation and I have until this weekend to come up with the balance of $24k or else they say either sue or charge off. My question is how many people have been at the same point with Chase and have had them sue? I am 7 months late. I offered them a settlement and they claim I don't qualify. They say they will pass it off to their attorney for review and possible lit. Any suggestions? Thx

i signed a stipulated judgement for medical bills in collections in jan 2010.. i was to pay 205.00 a month until it was paid off. the amount owed was 1208.02... i paid this for 7 months (for a total of 1435.00) i thought it was satisfied until a rep from the agencie called me demanding i pay the 205.00 ... i told her the the judgement should be more than satisfied and she informed me that since signing the judgment in jan. the new accounts have come in and i still have an outstanding balance...

How do I find out what the statue on limitation on a debt would be? Would it be determined by the state I live in or the state of the creditor? I live in MS.
