I live in Oregon and was just wondering what income is considered garnishable in my state. I get disability and child support, can a CA threaten to garnish these or not. I have one debt that has been bought out by several different CA's everytime I send a DV letter I get no reply and several months later I am getting a letter from another CA saying they now have the debt. The debt was a write/charged off by the OC 4 years ago, not sure what all that means yet as I am still learning about all of this. Thank you.

Question: I have been dealing with "The Cash Spot" for sometime which has now become "Money2Advance" but both use the DBA as ACC aka American Consumer Credit. My question is, I have had many loans with them in the past 2 years.

I live in MD, can a pay day loan company garnish my check? They say they will sue men and they will talk to my supervisor to set up garnishment. I thought you have to go to court first and then its no guarantee that there is garnishment. Isn't this just threats to get you to pay your loan!?

My fiance has been getting phone calls from these people for the past three months and they will not give up. They said he owed them $126 from a bank account from years ago. They were adamentely saying they sent him numerous letters saying he owes the money. We NEVER received anything. when he asked them what address they had on file, it was like pulling teeth to get it out of them. Turns out they had an old address from over 10 years ago, and ironically enough, the bacnk account they were referring to was only closed out about six years ago.
