Hello, I just got a letter (From May 1 2010) this weekend regarding a lawsuit. This letter gave me a copy of the lawsuit that was filed by MJS. I do not have a letter from the court though. I did go to their website and see my case on their public records. I'm completely confused and don't know what to do. Here's some of the information I see on their website: The plaintiff's original petition on May 1 A week later the petition was issued and mailed to the atty's office for private service. The same day it says, "CITATION" and my name with "UNSERVED" next to it. What does this all mean?

I am trying to figure out what I need to do. We have about 18k in credit card debt, still making payments, but can only afford the minimum payments. We have friends that had over 30k in cc debt and did a debt settlement program, and suggest we do the same to get out of it. But I only want to as a last resort. I would rather find another way to it paid without it hurting my credit score. We have never been moer than a few days late with payments, nothing negative on credit report, and I know if we do a settlement program it will negatively impact my credit.

I am learning a lot from all of the resources here, so I am very appreciative of everyone that contributes, but I am still a little confused. I was just served papers that I'm being sued by Equable Ascent Financial in Collin County TX. I'm not exactly sure how to "answer" the (17) statements listed in the REQUEST FOR ADMISSION section.

how do I get my money back from an unauthorized debit and what criminal charges can I file?

Just signed up as community member bcuz this site rocks!! any how starting 2mara am going to call bank and request hard blocks on debits as per instructed by shazzer, however i am not sure how to approach this with bank...do i just say i have some ach's that i want blocked bcuz i have revoked them or what and will i hit any "roadblocks" with this? They are due to come out on the 30th so i want to get this in place as soon as possible.

Hello! I am being sued by lvnv; I am trying to find out if the debt is from Citibank. Listed as "collateral" on my credit report is Citibank Sears Premium card. What does this mean? I have never had a citibank sears premium card. How can I find out from Citibank if this is accurate, and if a debt has been charged off? It is my understanding that once a debt is charged off, you cannot be sued. Also, if the institution that is suing you is not in your state, you cannot be sued. (However, the lawyer who is handling this is in my state). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Ann

Hi. If I could just give you some info, maybe I'm missing something. My husbands ex-landlord took us to court 3 weeks ago. Back in June 09' she had stopped cashing my husbands rent checks that were written from my accout (my maiden name). She had held June, July, August and September rent checks. She would never answer our calls to see what the issue was. In March 2010, she took my husband to court for unpaid rent bc by this time, he had just stopped paying. She got a judgement against him for unpaid rent Oct 09'- march 10'. She had my 4 checks still at this time for June-Sept.

How can I consolidate payday loans?

ok here's my deal: my balance is 5282.54 right now, i am at 95 days late and i offered 1100.00 they told me 4000.00 is the lowest they can take. then she tried to sell me on a hardship plan saying that any day now our acct can go to an outside agency one step closer to collections. what is this all about? will this new dept negotiate? has anyone dealt with this with american express? advice?????
