Help

15 years 6 months ago
I just received a phone call from United Legal saying that Payday One Cash was going after me for a loan I took out in 2009. First off, I have NEVER taken out a payday loan with these people I am actually about to start the process of fighting illegal lenders but haven't even sent out a letter yet. Second, how in the world did they get my work number to place that I was not even working at in 2009 at the time the loan was supposedly taken out in. What in the world do I do?

advice needed on Weltman, Wienberg and Reis suing me

15 years 6 months ago
I was served today with a complaint from Franklin Co Municipal Court (Columbus, Oh) from WWR. It's for a Target Ntl Bank card that's balance is now at $9300 (think it was $8500 back in Jan when I stopped paying). My DH was laid off in April 2009 and has been out of work for nearly 16 months. Something had to give if we were still going to live and keep our house, so the CC bills were it (I have also not paid a GE Money Bank card since then, too). In any event, I am worried and trying to gather info on my next best step.

payday loans laws NJ

15 years 6 months ago
okay, so i sent all the letters that state that payday loans are illegal in the state of NJ. and that based on the laws I am responsible for only the principle minus any payments I already made to the company. I have had 2 companies come back and say that in the aggreement I signed that I agreed to the loans based on the laws in the state where the loan originated from and therefore I owe the principle plus any outstanding interest/fee charges. does anyone know how to respond to this??

Collection/Payday Loan

15 years 6 months ago
I just found out that I have a collection on my credit report and a company has called my employer. This is National Recovery Service for Payday Avenue? I am in Oregon, aren't there steps they have to go through before they can put a collection account on my credit report and call my employer? The last letter I got from them I sent one back asking for all of the information that was suggested from this site? Anyone have suggestions? Should I just call them and pay it?

can I send settlement offer?

15 years 6 months ago
Does BoA consider settlement offers on accounts that are not past due? We've been killing ourselves trying to keep up and not a single payment has been on time in the past 2 years. We really cannot afford to keep on this way and we just got an unexpected chunk of cash so we can pay up to 50% immediately. Is there any chance they will accept or do we need to stop paying for 120 days first?

Bank of America settlement offer in 2010

15 years 6 months ago
hi all! PLEASE ADVISE! We are just now drafting a settlement offer for a 22k balance with BoA (formerly an MBNA credit card). We are quite lucky in that we just got an inheritance that will let us pay it right now, in one payment, so... does anyone know what a realistic figure would be if we want to take care of it quickly? Will a higher offer (30%) get a swifter response? Is 20% still realistic? How much haggling did you have to do? This thread was started in 2008--does anyone know how things have changed in two years?
