I'm surrendering one of my homes. I got in over my head! We thought we could rent it out but it wasn't enough money to cover the mortgage! Now we are in chapter 7!

I am surrendering a house and keeping my other house in a chapter 7. Anyone else done this? This is all new.

my question is... i live in the state of michigan and i was wondering if fbd could legally charge the interest rates they do for thier loans. i have cancelled my eft to them after 3 months...i borrowed $500 and i paid them $600 total. as far as i know, they are not licensed in my state for "pay day loans". thanks for your help.

Are there any free programs or non-profit organizations to help you with the process of debt consolidation or debt settlement?

My father passed away suddenly last December. We have not filed for probate as after his death we (surviving kids) discovered he had filed for Ch 13 Bankruptcy in Nov 2005. He had over $170k in debt; no assets (real estate, life insurance, etc.) I wrote to the bankruptcy trustee after I found this info, to inform them of his death... Rec'd a response that his Ch 13 protection had been dismissed as he failed to make the obligatory payments. Apart from an inoperable 5th Wheel trailer he'd been living in, and a 10 yr old truck, he had no assets. He was an alcoholic and a gambler.

I have been receiving calls from NCO but when I answered the phone it was just a recording asking us to call them back. They just called again and I answered and I got to talk to a live person. She said it had to do with Americredit. We voluntarily had our car repo'd last year. I asked the lady if they could validate the debt. She said what do you mean? I said I want debt validation. She said we already mailed that to you. I said well we havent received anything. That is no lie either because I havent gotten anything in the mail from them.

Is UPFRONTCASH.com licensed to conduct business in SC. Anyone had any issues with this comapny in the past?

I received a summons yesterday saying I am being sued by U.S. Bank. The validation request returned to me included old statements but not a copy of the original contract. Is there anything I can do to fight this? I saw a poster earlier this week had trouble with U.S. bank also, but the posting is gone.
