behind on cc payments months, do to hard times, where do i go for help

I haven't been able to pay my huge CreditCard debts in months, getting hundreds of calls a week that I can't deal with, too depressed. My house is now facing foreclosure as well. I am broke and cannot pay anything to anybody. I was trying to get a job, hoping for a miracle etc, but I have to admit it now, it ain't gonna happen, certainly not in the near future anyways, and my only choice is to sell the house. I have equity in my house that if it sells I can (hopefully) settle with the CCs, fingers crossed.

If I do monthly payment arrangements as part of the settlement. Does the creditor issued the 1099c in the year that the debt is finally settled? Is it 30 days after every thing is paid off?

So glad I found this forum. There is such a wealth of information. My husband and I just this week stopped paying our cc. It was the scariest thing I have ever done. We have always had excellent credit scores, always pay our bills on time but recently have been only able to pay minimum payments. My husband still has a good job but my job had cut hours and cut pay for me for 2008-2009 and finally they laid me off last summer.

Hi all, I'm a newbie here. Was gonna do chapter 13 but didn't think I can afford a 5 year pay off plan by the court.Plus, I didn;t like my expenses being so scrutinized. So here's my case: I owe chase 18k on two cards. I've been in there BLP program at 6% interest 5 year payout. My payments have been hit and missed. At what point can I offer them a settlement? Or how delinquent do I have to be before they initiate a settlement with me? What percentage should I offer them on the 18k balance?

I too am overwhelmed with payday loans. so much so I do not even get a check sometimes, I started using them due to my husband being out of work. i contacted the AG and informed me that payday loans are illegal in the state of NC. I also tried getting some financial evidence and was informed to just stop paying them and just pay them just what I owe, I have 5 loans, and one is threating to contact my employer, one has turned it over to National Credit Adjusters, that are rude and threating court, and can only do 2 installments.

Has anyone seen the artcicle on AOL dated July 15, 2010, about people being taken to jail for missing court hearings resulting in a default judgment? This is very scary to me. Does anyone know anything about this? I thought debtors prisons were abolished long ago?? If anyone has more information on this, I would appreciate hearing more.
