Hello, I have a balance of about 96k in private student loans through CitiAssist (Citi Bank) and then about 8k in other student loans. My Citi loans have variable interest rates and all of them are different. They currently range between between 6.5 and 3.5 percent. I have always always paid my loans on time and have always paid more money on the high interest loans. Citi disperses the payment (and any extra) evenly accross all loans regardless of interest rate. I have to send a seperate check for the extra amount with directions to only apply it to the high interest loans.

My father has a lot of debt and collection agencies that are going after him for some time. They've threatened court action and wage garnishment, but it hasn't reached that point quite yet. I have been doing well enough that I'd like to loan / gift my father some money. It'd really be a gift, b/c I don't expect to get it back ever.

I was served an alias civil summons in kentucky from midland funding LLC suing me for a citibank debt that my last payment was in may of 2006. I am a legal resident of Texas where the SOL is 4 years, i believe, and the summons came with an affidavit from a legal specialist for Midland Credit Management, Inc. who is the servicer of the account. the affidavit is from the state of minnesota and I don't even know where midland funding LLC is from. Can they get a lawyer in the state of kentucky to sue me when I am not a legal resident of this state?

how is care one? i am thinking of using them, im afraid they wont actually pay my bills, i dont want a settlement im fine with paying what for what ive done, i just want consolidation, would u reccomend?

I have ask United Cashloan to stop calling my job, send me information showing where I've taken a loan from UCL. They have not send anything. But the person did said, it was done over the Internet. Still I need proof, I haven gotten yet. What I can do to stop the HPC? Who can CC?

Advanced Credit Recovery. I contacted an attorney about their constant harrassment and he said that since they were in NY that it would be very hard to find them as they change constantly. He suggested we go after Discount Advances instead. Well, I have sent my debt validation and C&D letter to ACR and received my receipts back so I know they were delivered. Can I take any action against them on my own? This is ridiculous.

I hope this isn't a dumb question but how do you know if they are backed by a bank or where they are located when they don't list it anywhere in any "paperwork" they send out?

So here is MY story with all of this and would appreciate any feedback that is useful. Which, by the way, I feel this forum is wonderful for folks like me! Well I got involved with payday loans online and live in MI. I apparently neglected a loan back in 2008 and they couldn't collect so I had honestly put it out of my thoughts. I NEVER intended to just not repay it. However, now in 2010 I have a collection agency calling me called Federal IRS Legal Services. They have informed me twice now that by 9 a.m.

We have a BoA credit card w/ a 18k balance. At this point we are at 120 late. They offered a settlement of $6300 payable in 93 days. According to the rep. we just spoke with the offer is only good until tomorrow. Does this mean we wait for a better deal July 1? It seemed unclear if there was more negotiation room. Suggestions? It seems as though other people had offers that had a longer repayment period. Help please...
