I've recently (May 2010) received a letter from Asset Acceptance LLC stating that I owe them thousands of dollars on a Wells Fargo Account that was closed owing $350. I did, at one point in time have a small personal loan with Wells Fargo that I used to buy a car. I was 19! Anyway, that had been paid off, but that was back in 1996 or 97. I do not have any past due accounts or debts on my credit report, but I DO have an inquiry from Asset Acceptance LLC on my Experian credit report.

I received a call today from First Source Advantage llc, which is a collection agency used by American Xpress. They sent a fax with 2 pages but I don't received the second page just fax sheet. I want to make a comminment to take out my total debt. They ask me about the pay $600 for my total balance. can you help me

Is the goal to settle before the accounts go to collection agencies? I don't have any money to settle and I haven't paid most of my credit cards for more than two-three months. I'm unemployed and have only been working in the Census to make ends meet. The Census is almost over so I won't have that cash anymore. What my husband makes is only enough to pay mortgage/car payment/car insurance/food/utilities. I believe I will get a refund for my Tax Return but that's not till next February. I received a phone call from them (Erie Mitigation) today, and I am almost certain that this company works in tandem with Lighthouse Recovery Associates. They insisted they were permitted to call me at work even if I request that they don't, and they were also insistent that they were permitted to ask for my supervisor and HR department to verify employment and ask about wages garnishes. It sounded ALOT like Susie from Lighthouse Recovery, who has contacted me about tendollarpaydayloan.com (MTE financial).

Has anyone read the fine print on the PDL Contracts that state the recipient of the loan is agreeing they cannot take the matter to court and any disputes will be handled by the ICDR and that the governing laws of the lenders country will be honored, not the laws of the state/country the recipient lives in?

I've read a lot of posts that people are negotiating to pay only the legal amount of interests their state allows, but if PDL's are illegal in NC, how can I find out how much interest I should negotiate for?

I recently reached debt settlement agreement with a cc (will be made in three payments - thruough borrowed money). The cc CSR told me to check to see if the loan forgiveness will impact my SSDI monthly payments. I have searched online but haven't found anything. Wanted to see if anyone on this forum knows about this or can direct me to research it. I understand I will get a 1099C and will need to include as income on my 2010 taxes, but am now worried that I may lose my SSDI for a whole year because of the loan forgiveness.

I just defualted on Titan group PDL. I put a ACH block on my account. It's been 5 days and I tried to call them to set up an arrangent but they already sold it to Icollect. I-Collect sold it to another company as well. Still havent heard anything. I live in Florida. Is the Titan group loan legal and what can they really do?
