I am currently in a management program with 2 of my credit card companies. I have several other cards with large balances and I'm having a hard time paying all of my bills. I have a mortgage and student loans for 2 of my children.(one is in defferment now. ) I was offered to settle with these 2 companies, however, they said the balance would need to be paid off in 3 months. I wasn't able to do that so I'm in a mangement plan. I cannot pay all of my bills. Will working with a debt relief company be able to give me more time to pay the settlement?

In April of this year I received a notification from the Internal Revenue Service saying that I owed additional taxes and penalties because of a canceled debt reported by FIA Card Services. IRS said that they were informed of the canceled debt via a 1099 supplied by FIA. I did not receive a 1099.

How do I deal with the creditor or collection agency once a debt is in judgement?

i'm afraid that to be considered, i must have sufficient income to pay into a trust account. my income cannot cover the amount of living expenses and my credit card debts. will a debt settlement program work for me?

I took out 3 loans a few weeks ago, under the impression that when I got the money, I could just pay them off. well I would like to now and found this forum. we replied to a summons to the court and the collector. The court received the reply as did the scavenger collector. Apparently it was disregarded by both. We didn't show up to court and the next thing we knew we had a default judgement against. The collector just took almost $17,000 from our bank account for an MBNA credit card debt that the sol expired in 2008. The maximum ever drawn on the account was $5000. We paid almost $8000 on the account and when we stopped paying the balance had escalated to $8000 plus.

Hi There, So I've done my own research and have actually already called a couple of the PDL companies and informed them that in Washington State, "any payday loan obtained by a lender not licensed by the DFI and not repaid to the lender may not be collected by lender and the lender may not pursue action in Washington State to collect the debt." One company, PayDayMax/Discount Advances, immediately offered me a 6 month repayment plan.
