Thanks to all the great information on your web site- I am trying to get my payday loans under control. Presently I have 3- one with Pack Management, one with Loanshop, and one with Flash loans. I copied (but modified into my own words) the letter posted on this website to send to Pack Management and Loanshop since I live in NJ and they are apparently illegal. This is the response I received from Pack Management: Please give us a call if you are having issues with your account. We are always more than willing to work with you.

I have 1 item remaining on my credit report. Its a collection account on a checking account that was closed due to pay day loans. I have worked really hard to get my credit fixed and this is the only item remaining. What is the rule of thumb on settlements. This CA said they would settle for about $750 of $1050. If I pay that, how does it appear on my credit report. Will it lower my score then if its shows as unpaid collection. Would it be best to just pay it off and be done with it. Any advice.

I sent a settlement letter to Chase Bank offering 25% on a Chase credit card debt of $ 22,081. I received a call from a Valentine and Karbatas, Inc. from Lawrence, MA and they emailed me a letter that said that they will "provide a full release of this liability of $5,521." And "upon successful negotiation of funds, this will represent a settlement in full and our client will update your credit report accordingly". Is this the best deal I can get or should I try to get something better listed on my credit report?

hi, i will be filing bk by the middle of june 2010, i received a form from the small claims court here in ct. the law firm schiff for target. they gave me until may, 11 2010 to give a answer, i want to know, what can i do to put off the date, can i check the disagree box and ask for validation? i am hoping to get the date moved so i have a little more time to file.

The say they are an attorneys office. When I went to their website they are a debt collector. They have only called my house once and my work once and I have received nothing in the mail but today they called my employer to verify employment. Anyone ever dealt with them? At this point I am willing and able to settle at about 50% on a $2800 debt. Should I wait until I get something in writing or respond to the voicemail they left?

I have about $100,800 in private student loans placed with WW&R. I talked to them today and they want either a $15,000 down payment and lower mo. payments or they want $1,900 a month w/ no down payment. Neither is possible right now. My husband works and I'm looking for a job but we also have a 4 month old daughter. After our mortgage and essentials we only have about $400 extra per month.

Anyone know how much time the law requires the lenders to allow a person for the EPP's? We are trying to work with the PDL's but they all want the payments, after stopping interest, in two week intervals x 4. Which if we could pay that, we would not be going into default in the first place. Is there a certain amount of time, like 90 days or such they MUST give a borrower to pay the loan in full on a repayment plan by a God's miracle? ThaNKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!:((((((((

how bad is it on a credit report if you consolidate your bills?

I have cancelled my auto checks (so they call them) When I called and spoke to Jay Burgess he was very rude and unprofessional. I asked for some confirmation that my payments had been stopped. I dont want to wait till the next month to find out they are still coming out. He said "I told you that the checks were deleted" and that was all the time and proof he would give me. Is there anyway to make sure this is taken care of? I spoke to 3 unprofessional people there.
