This agency called my house asking for my sister who apparently has a debt. I had no idea about the matter and I have no idea how they have info on family members. Is this legal to call family members?

I live in NYS. I am planning on filing bankruptcy within the next few months. I have two questions: can I take a 2nd job to help pay the bills? I take home $1,750.00 per month and don't have enough money to survive on!. Even with a 2nd job, my income won't exceed the mean for my state. Also, I have a payday loan for $500.00, If I pay the loan off in full 90 days before filing, will that be seen as preferential treatment? With the interest, the pay back amount will be over $600.00. I want that bill taken care of as soon as possible as the loan people are dreadful to deal with.

I sent a donation(check) to Ally Cat Allies in Dec.(09). The money was electonically deducted from my acct. Then a few months later, the charity sent me a letter that (Bank of America) had deducted the amount again and were notifying me of the action. If BOA customer, then the refund was already processed. If not, take said letter to my bank and have them contact some strange place. Never did get the refund. Went to my bank and they just gave me credit for the duplicate check, but with instructions that if the refund did show up, I was to let them know and give it back.

Mine situation is pretty ridiculous also. I originally had an AT&T cell account. Due to military assignment I was shipped overseas. Before I transferred, I called AT&T to discontinue service. Needless to say, they never did and charged me one extra month's amount (approx $35). By the time after going through military mail system, I got the bill it was 2 months later. I found AT&T had sent it to a collections agency. I tried to call the collections and was placed on hold, this call I was making was an international call and it quickly surpassed the amount I was supposed to have owed.

first source is not working in the best interest of there clients the refuse reasonable offers and there policy is to bully all and everyone who deals with them ... its better not to deal with them

I was talking with a rep from Preferred Financial about this site, i discovered it for myself and asked them about it. I understand that there is a lot of stuff on the internet that is false and probally some true. They referred me to their credentials which I checked out and I just have to say..coming from a customer service background myself, that it is never easy dealing with the public and I feel that it's one thing to have your opinion about a company but quite another to bash specific people. Just pathetic.

Hi, I have been reading all these options here as well as some other forums. I really like this site the best, I am glad I found it and hope someone will help me tackle my problems and find the right solution. After all the reading I think settlement is the best option for me but not sure. I have 4 credit cards, Chase, Citi and B of A. 2 are with Citi. Total debt on them is 87k. I have had them all for about 15 years.

I went thru the credit exchange. Who then sent my accounts to allegro law firm. Now i am hearing all bad things about them. How do i know if my payments are reallly going to the credit cards? Is vthere a way out without losing the $10,000 i have already paid

I haven't written in a while..........haven't been receiving phone calls at work anymore until today. the number is 903-841-5171.........can anyone tell me who this belongs too or anything about them. And of course they have an accent. they asked to speak to one of your employees and asked for me by name then. Thanks
