My wife received a 1099-c for credit card debt that was written off last year. If she fills out the insolvency form and we file jointly, do I have to include all my assets? The cards were in her name only. If I have to declare my assets, can I also show what debt I had?

Hi all, I had closed my checking account at my bank yesterday. They told me that their period for an ACH transaction to open an account back up is 48 hours, so since the transactions are for the 31st my account should be closed permanently by then. What do I do about sending the letters revoking ACH transactions, wage assignments? Can I just email them, or do I have to send them certified mail? Also, is there any way I can make them only contact me (not work, or references) that they will follow?

I have (2) credit card debts that defaulted in Feb. of 2007. The collection agency is adding interest that has raised one from 5000+ to > than 9000 now and the other from 9000+ to > than 15000 now. Can they do this? I will soon be able to pay monthly to take care of these but don't want to pay all that interest. Is this possible?

I am in default of a student loan. Through job layoffs and attrition, I simply could not pay it, so it naturally defaulted. OK, I get a called from FMS and got letters as well telling me about a loan consolidation plan that would get the student loan out of default. The agreement was that I make 9 consecutive payments. I had it set up where it was automatically being debited from my account....$150 a month. I made 7 consecutive payments.....7 MONTHS.

i CANNOT believe THEY (world financial network national bank) GOT my SS# from me without my name AND THEN got my name from my husband when he redialed the # i returned called earlier after he heard me stating my SS# and wanted to know why THEY even asked for my SS# after i said i was told to never give it to anyone over the phone. WE were the ones stupid, trusting, naive and oblivious enough to the DANGERS until THEY hung up on my 71 year old spouse who was just trying to find out if they would state that my SS# would be protected with them and not used for any fraudulant purpose.

Hey all, I have a PDL with ZIP19.com. I live in TN. The principal is $520.The total payback amount is 623.90(they break it up into 2 installments debited at the same time). I have never had a payment returned. I have loaned with them over 7 times. I will have a payment returned next week. There will be a $58 returned fee from them. When these 2 payments are returned, what is the best way of handling them? Its going to take me about a 1 1/2 months to pay them back. Any help would be greatly appreciated

dcs contacted my cosigner fri and sd the loan was in default they only gave 2 options to pay: 1. settle for 10,000 or 2. pay 6,000 by mon 3/29 and then 200 a month... tried to get the 6k but no luck no one will lend it to me (not a big suprise) what else can i do??? are those really my only 2 options of repayment???

Just went to that Advanta web site to pay my bill and saw that they where taken over by the FDIC. I have a 25K balance at 35% interest. I am not sure if I should pay of wait to see if can settle this balance. Can someone comment on what happens to a bank after FDIC takes over. I got to say I am glad to see Advanta Go.
