To make a long story short, I'm 20, and made a few mistakes regarding my last bank account. Basically, I didn't manage it right and had a few charges onto it before I was ready and had it suspended, along with the outstanding balance reported to ChexSystems, along with a collections notice. I know with ChexSystems, it only stays on your record for 5 years (and there's second chance banking, which I will take advantage of), but I've heard this collections notice will stay on my credit report for 7 years. Will such a negligible amount really adversely affect me?

Maybe this is fruitless but it's our last hope. We're a retired couple who turned 80 last year. Maybe it's also too little too late but we'd like to at least enjoy our remaining retirement years debt free. We currently owe $100K in credit card debts and don't own anything. We don't qualify for Chapt 7 & 13. We decided that if we continue to do nothing things won't be any better. Please advise us if consolidation, credit counseling, debt settlement hardship program, or something else would be best for our situation or drastically reduce the debt.

Hey guys... I have been down in Florida for 6 months working my ass off at two part time jobs. I have an interview on Thursday for the job of my dreams....Default Prevention Manager at a college! I want this job soooooooo bad! Part of the reason I have worked student loan boards since I left the University of Minnesota 7 years ago was to keep my skills in check and my knowledge up to date. I know it might be asking a lot, but need every recommendation I can get. Would any of you kind moderators be willing to write a letter of recommendation on my work here?

Does any body settle after been served in court? and during the 30 days to responds to the summons. I owe $5,700.00 and they just sued me for that plus attorney fees, does anybody can advice on this, and how they settle, I been a year without making my payments, and I received that letter for about 50% but I could not come up with the money they asking for. Please Advice!
