Hi, I received a letter from Capital One Services LLC today offering to reduce my interest rate to 0% on a Capital One card that has gone to a CA. The letter states that all I need to do is call and arrange an acceptable payment plan, then my APR will be reduced to 0%.They say they are a subsidiary of Capitol one. Are they legit and should I trust them. Thanks

Today I accepted Chase settlement on my 3 cards with 40% with 3 payments 1) Chase - 3 Cards total $19800 (Chase offered 90%, 85%, 70%, 40%) Days Late - 90 2) Citi - card 1 - total 4400 (Not settled. Offer 65%, Days late 89) 3) Citi card 2 total 4500 (Not setteld offer 85% days late 51) 4) BOA - 5500 (not offer yet Days late 75) Questions: How long I have to wait for good offer from CITI and BOA.

I gave a personal check to John Doe as payment. He took the check to a small grocery store. They took the check and did an automatic withdrawal from my account. Now my bank statement says I paid the grocery and I only have my check stub to prove to the IRS that I paid labor. Was it legal for the grocery to do an automatic debit using a check that I wrote to someone else?

I have overpaid my lenders about $1700. Some are paid off. How do I get refunds from those lenders? Have you heard if they give refunds if you have paid them off already? Any advice? :confused:

I received a letter stating that the records of Paypal, Inc. show that I over $1,000.00 Then it stated that their client was willing to settle for 50% of the balance. This is a dispute from 2001, over 9 years ago and well past the SOL. To make a long story short, buyer didn't like an item, he was supposed to return it for a refund but never did. PayPal got involved and I submitted the tracking number. Then they closed the dispute. That was the last I heard of it. Apparently the scamming buyer then did a chargeback and kept the item.

So I've spent all day searching the web and I am now hoping someone here could provide me with more information or ways to interpret the existing law. This is the most concrete information I can find and I'm very frustrated that not even the Virginia government site mentions internet lenders. We have our mortgage through Chase and always paid on time; account in good standing. But I have two Chase credit cards, one business and one personal, that I'm having trouble keeping up payments on. If I stop paying these cards and try to settle them, what effect if any would that have on our mortgage? Also how would having the mortgage acct in good standing affect my chances of settlement on the cards? One Chase card is 13K, the other 5K.

I have talked with Rent a center her where I have a pdl. They stated that to even be put on the payment plan, that my checks have to be deposited and then when I get on the payment plan that I have pay 2 30.00 dollar fees plus my first 55 dollar payment... Can they do that? I thought that if you asked for an EPP that they had to give it to you for the face value of the check... Any suggestions...My check is due tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
