has anyone been able to negotiate a paid in full or pay for delete with BofA of AmEx cards as part of the settlement?

First off... I'm located in North Carolina.... I have a bad credit card debt of $2280 that I have not paid on since March 19, 2007. From what I understand, the SOL is 3 years here in North Carolina. If that is in fact true, the SOL time period would be up on March 19th 2010. I received a letter from an "out of state" Collections Agency stating that they now own the account as of Oct. 2009. They produced a copy of an old bill from the original creditor.

I am being asked to provide a hardship letter, 3 months of bank statements and list of monthly obligations. Does anyone have a sample hardship letter format? Obligations list format? Also, when sending the bank statements, should I send the entire statement, and should I redact / partially redact the account number, home address, etc? Thanks

I get 5 calls a day from these people. Are they a collection agency?

I settled a account with a credit card complany, I have all my stuff in paper showing I done so, like the contract and proof that I paid what I agreed to settle. They never gave me a settlement letter. Now they are claiming I owe the other half which I settle. What do I do? Can I sue them for the harresment? Or what advise it out there. I tryied calling them and they give me the run around. HELP!!

Some dirty debt collectors tried to use false information to collect from me a debt that belongs to someone with the same name as me, but with a different SSN and address. I am wondering if I have enough evidence to turn the table and collect from them. I got a debt collection notice in mail from a debt collector about a credit card debt, and I ask them in mail for validation. They sent me one sheet that basically just state again I am the holder of the account, but this time with my SSN and address claiming these information come from the account in question.

Hi: I have a question. I had a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and it has being discharged. I have a car that was discharged/written off thru this Chapter 7. The car is in my name and my dad is the co-signer. The bankruptcy shows this car as written off/discharged on his credit report as well. I am going to call the lendor and volunteer to have them come get the car. Will I be responsible for the remaining balance even if it is written off/discharged. I was told no, but I thought I would ask the experts on this site. Thanks

I closed my bank accr after noticing withdrawls from a cmg group llc. A few weeks ago I got a call sayingthat it's been forwarded to a law office and that a case has been opened in pa. The law office was marcoZzi Weinstein associates law office. I told ten I never saw any paper work or anything like that. They said te moment I hit agree on the site I electronically signed a contract.

In a letter dated January 26th, I received a letter from Messerli and Kramer stating that this was their second attempt to contact me regarding my Capital One account. I know I hadn't received any other letters from them before. So, I sent a request for debt validation, not knowing if I was still within 30 days of the original letter they "sent" me or not. The received my letter on the 5th. On February 9th, I got a letter stating that this was their Final Notice. The letter was dated for February 5th.
