I still owe a few thousand dollars on a car, but I am going for the settlement process with credit cards. I am still making monthly on-time payments for my car. My 3 cards are BofA, Citi, and Amex. Will there be any way for them to get a lien on the car? If for some reason any of them decide to sue, when I find out, could I sell it immediately if I found a buyer? The car wouldn't be paid off for another 2 years if I just make regular payments. Also, I am in NY. Thanks!

I started to stop making minimum payment on all my credit card from last month. I have three Chase CC with 3.6K, 4.2K 7.7K. two Citi CC with 23K and 22K. And Capital 22K and Discover with 13K. Getting calls to make a minimum payment everyday but not from Capital after one call. I saw many feedback from here that Capital and Discover are very aggressie and not hesitating to sue. What is best option for me, should I hire lawyer or settlement company. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance NJ

hi,my name is rani.I had a bank of america account .In 2006 i lost my job.I was job less.Then used my credit card for about $4000.In 2007 i could't pay the bills.my account was closed.I got letters from the bank to repay but i had no income.In 2009 i got a job i am earning very low income.I was planing to pay the balance in 2010.but last week i got a letter from the marshal saying "asset acceptance has a judgement on me pay the full balance $11,253 .I never got a summons from them stating me to come to court.now my question is what should i do.I only used $4000 but there asking me to pay $1100

I am being threatened and called repeatedly at work by a David Miller of O.C.C. threatening to take me to court saying that he refuses/and the payday loan companies refuse to speak to me - they sold my business to him and because I can't pay him - they are going to charge me with a thrid degree felony in state of MA? Can anyone PLEASE help me?? Can he do this - - he has already called me at work five times today and I hung up on him every time - I told him to stop harrassing me and he said I was harrassing him. I am so scared!!!!

If you are delinquent or about to go delinquent on cc debt; is it best to close the acct yourself or just wait for the cc company close it due to lack of payment? Thanks.

Hopefully someone can help me with a few questions I have... 1. If I want to settle a credit card bill with bank of america. Is it better to deal with the bank or the collection agency? In other words who will give you a cheaper rate? 2. I tried to make an agreement with the bank that if I settled they would remove the bad credit rating but they said it was illegal to do that. Is that true? 3. If I let it go to the collection agency and make this type of agreement with the collection agency, does the charged off debt still show with boa?

i took out an internet payday loan with payday-loan-yes. are they legal in california? i got 2 messages saying that i have commited check fraud and that they are trying to serve a summons to appear in court but cannot reach me and may go to my place of employment. they told me to call 877-231-2175. i called and i believe that they are the bam group? anyway they said they were a legal firm and that if i did not pay 800.00 something plus legal fees i would go to court. i told them i would pay the original loan amt of 350.00 and nothing more but it would have to be on my payday.
