I have three cards with Chase. One is approaching 90 days and the other two 60 days. How long should I wait to start negotiating with them? and does anyone know what they typically settle for?? Any help would be appreciated.

My husband has a job and his check is garnished for child support.I am self employed.We are both struggling financialy and have not been able to pay our credit card bills for a very long time.We have never filed for bankruptcy and are planning to in the next year.I have read a lot of stuff online that said a collection agency will dig into your personal information and see if you have a garnishment on your paycheck,are self employed ect and decide if they feel they will be able to get their money out of you if they take you to court.

I have a personal loan of approximately $8,000 that was made to me over a period of several years by a former friend. He has asked me to repay immediately in full, and is refusing to accept payments, he wants the entire balance at once. He has threatened to tell my boss and cause me to lose my job (I've saved these email threats) and has hired an attorney, telling me that if he takes me to court, I will have to pay all at once. Here are my questions. First, I'm assuming even if he takes me to court, the judge will let me set up a payment plan.

Anyone have an address for EZpaydaycash or UC Financial? I have overpaid them $265. I was wanting to file complaints against them but I can't find any contact info for them.

i have contacted them every other day to try to work out a settlement,we can come to an agreement but they refuse to send a written agreement. Is their a way i can send them one. like saying that they agree to the terms buy cashing my money order that i send them.If anybody has any other ideas i would love to hear them.Thanks Larry

We signed on with a loan modification company (that uses attorneys)last March. It is now January. Our interest rate is too high but our payments are current. The lender is playing games with us. We held 2 months back hoping to get attention. They sent a courier to our home to inform us that they had "programs" to help if we were in trouble. Getting someone on the phone is like pulling teeth. We are now eligible for refinance but would not do it with this lender (Bank of A). Our original loan was with Countrywide but they were bought by our new lender.

Does anyone know if a complaint can be filled out on line for the NJ Attorney General or do I have to print the form out and mail it and does the FTC ever get back to you when filing a complaint. I filed my compliant about a month ago and i still have not heard from them.

Hey, I just sued Resurgent Capital for unlawful credit reporting. I obtained a $6000 damage award, $1000 in fees and costs (the attorney kept $4000) but it cleaned my credit report. I am going to do the same thing with Calvary Portfolio. Calvary is reporting an account as just becoming delinquent in 2009 when the account went delinquent in 2004. So, I am going to tee it up the same way that I did the Resurgent case.
