I'm not exactly sure how it would work, or even if it's feasible but here goes! While this is a forum to help people get out of debt, is there something more we could do to aid them? Many members have suggested selling items to make quick money for rent, utilities, debts, etc. Is it possible that we could create a forum (for members who are registered only) where people could post items for sale? We could have a disclaimer posted in that area which states sellers and buyers are solely responsible for any and all transactions, etc. Just a thought!

I have 2 items on my credit report that I have disputed with all 3 credit bureaus. The accounts came back as verified. I contacted the credit bureaus to ask about method of verification, and they all stated that the information was electronically verified. I contacted the original creditors, HSBC Bank and Bank of America, to ask for method of verification. HSBC Bank said that the account was "closed permanently" and sold to Collect America on March 17, 2006. Since they are "no longer the legal owner of the account," they are unable to provide me with any records of the account.

I do have some outstanding payday loans. Recently, people I have not spoken to in years have been calling saying a lawyer has called them looking for me! First, my ex-sister in law who I have not spoken to in two years, then my fiancee's ex wife! I have never given anyone either of their phone numbers, and they are calling these people saying I have commited Fraud and am running a scam. His ex-wife called him and said hey told her she would be responsible if she did not give them information.

For some reason I can't access my other thread containing all my PDL info. Anyways, I have 6 online PDL's, 5 are illegal, 1 legal. I have sent all the letters mentioned on this site by both fax and e-mail. There is one company though that refuses to give me either an e-mail or tell me where they're located. I was able to close my bank acct today even though it was overdrawn by $300.

I am unsure if there are any judgments against me for any of my debts. I have not been served any papers but they also cannot locate me.

I signed a contract in December with Zwicker to pay my AmericanExpress account over 24 months. I gave them my bank account number for auto ACH withdrawals and they withdrew the first payment in December. I breathed a sigh of relief because I believed they were about to sue me (I was sued by American Express on another card a few months prior and I didn't want to go through that again). But - now NCO started calling me last week declaring that THEY are authorized to collect on this account.

someone named reena called my home this evening, asking for my husband , she would not say what the call was in feference to, so I gave the phone to my husband. When my husband asked who it was, she said,"you are shouting at me", my husband replied, "I have a loud voice, what is this call in reference to?", she then said, I will go through with the lawsuit, and I'm hanging up.

Ok...my WF account is at 155 days past due. Called WF today myself, the lowest he could offer was 65% over 3 months. I can't afford that. I am so close to charge off and because I live in a state where WF has bank offices (Minnesota), I for some reason feel that they are more likely to pursue legal action against me once I hit charge off- is this always true? I've been reading that 50% is about as low as WF will go- any other offers out there? Not sure what to do...very very scared :cry: :cry: :cry:

Hi. I got a call today by a debt collector that identified as the lawyer for the agency telling me that if I didn't pay them $2,400 today they would file a suit against me. The woman only identified herself by her first name and told me that she represented the company for which I owe the debt and said that she was giving me two options: (1) Either pay the full amount by the end of the month or (2) make a down payment now over the phone of $1,000 and then monthly payments there after of $200.

I'm being sued by this CA. I have court on Wednesday. It's for a store card debt for the amount of 1,800. The original credit company charged off the account for the amount of 1500 and Asset purchased it. Can Asset continue to charge interest on this account? Their validation is just a letter saying that I owe the money and whe it was charged off. But the letter is not from the original credit company. How should I approach this in court? thank you.
