I sent a debt validation letter to a collection agency via Express Mail signature required. Is this acceptable should I need it in court or should I also sent it via CMRRR? Thank you.

Ok, just got a call from a lady from PDM telling me she has a wage assignment for $637, from what I have searched here it looks like they have been successful in getting garnishments. Should I be scared. I am really shaking right now. This is one of the companies I over paid. But How do I fight this place. any support here would be nice. I am really scared right now.

I have a few accounts that have gone through several attorneys and/or collectors. Each time I ask for validation, and each time I never hear anything more until months later when a new guy has it. I dont think the account is being sold. I believe the original creditor keeps assigning it to a new agency. Is this a game? Are they trying to wear me down, or hoping I will forget one time?

Whenever I click on a new thread, I get an error window. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?

If send a dv letter out to a collection agency what should I be looking for if they send something back to me? I haven't gotten anything I'm just wondering because I don't want to receive just a paragraph or two on company letterhead or something like that. Are there certain things that they have to include on it and is there anything I can do if not all the information is included on what they send me? Is there another letter I can send to them?

As I posted previously one of my accounts was sent to a collection agency LRA. Since I heard from them I have sent them a DV letter and a copy of the payday laws for my state NY, now what I'm wondering is what happens if I don't hear anything back from them? Am I just done with dealing with them? Will I need to get back in touch with anyone? Like I said I have no problem paying back the pdl what I owe, but the amount they wanted with the fees and stuff is outragous. So if they can't verify the debt am I just done with it? Anyone have any experience dealing lra after they sent them letters?

I read a bunch of other threads and did not notice this mentioned before. After finally getting an offer from BOA last week I asked to have the settlement offer mailed to me. She said sure no problem and I hung up. After waiting all last week, I get another call from them today. I said I was just waiting on my letter in the mail to look over. Well the first person told me they don't usually do that, you have to first agree to a settlement and then would get something in the mail.
