Been going back and forth with a couple of the PDLs today and they keep stating I'm bound by the laws in their state, and or country. I've filed my compliants with BBB, and Ohio Attorney General, but I just feel wiped out. I am doing the right thing, the law is in my favor right....I really don't want to give in and pay them more then I owe.

I have two loans, one with United cash loans and one with cash jar, they are both licensed in Belize. In PA payday lending is illegal ...how how are the laws interpreted for companies licensed outside the US?

We live in Louisiana. My husband (without my knowledge) took out 2 different internet payday loans in September, each one for $400.* The lending companies are "One Click Cash" and "United Cash Loans". Each month, each company takes out $120. I was hoping that this coming payment, the fourth for each, would be the LAST payment, as we would have paid $480 back on each. GUESS I WAS BEING REALLY NAIVE...NOW I SEE WHAT A HUGE RIPOFF THESE COMPANIES ARE!!! They are telling us now that, after the January payment, we'll STILL owe them each $400 MORE. Please HELP!!! Is there ANYTHING we can do??

So I before I lost my job a got a loan from elastic.com (Urban trust bank) for $500. I lost my job and was unable to keep up with the payments. They tell me there is no other option other than to make the scheduled payments or let the loan go into default and accept all the additional charges. So here i am, unable to pay the minimum payments and the amount owed is up to $740. What do I do in this situation. Is this even legal in PA? They say it is because it's a "line of credit" and not a payday loan.

I just applied online for a payday with kngstonfinancial online, and I don't know if this is an illegal company. Please respond back as soon as possible.

To date, I've received letters from the State Attorney General's offices of my state (NY), Oklahoma and Maryland, all of which state that there is nothing they can do and I should consult an attorney. The NYS AG added insult to injury by attaching a one-page summary about PDLs. I'm wondering if the AGs simply aren't sympathetic because the majority of people who take PDLs are people who can't get a traditional loan a.k.a.

I am wondering if Cashnet USA who is operating as a CSO has the right to file criminal charges for my check not clearing? They have sent me to a 3rd party collection agency, Jacobs & Associates aka Marval & Associates and a man from there says he is an investigator out of Buffalo, NY, his name is Mark Damon. He threatened my account being sent to my county clerk of courts and then I will have a warrant out for myarrest and I will go to jail because the bank account got closed a month after they first tried to withdraw their money and they never got paid.
