I am 70 days behind on my AMEX (balance 40K). I spoke with my account manager today (yes, I have been assigned a specific person) who told me about the program. First six months at 0%; next six months at 9.9%. She told me I'd need to bring the account current first to get into the program. Uh, hello? If I could do that, I wouldn't be behind in the first place. I told her that would be impossible. She then asked if I could pay at least what my September payment was....$1300. If I could do that, I could begin the program. Almost signed up but wanted a night to run numbers first.

A guy with a thick accent called me at work about the payment that was returned and of course wanted new account info. When I asked about the emails I sent, he claimed they didn't know anything about it. When I insisted on sending payments via money order by mail, he said they don't take money orders. Then they wanted, in addition to the 2/3 of the principal amount borrowed that I already paid, over $100 to be sent via moneygram or western union to renew the loan.

Got a Pre Approved credit card offer from GFS Financial Solutions, Inc. As follows: Dear ___________ Your current creditor Asset Acceptance LLC has placed your account with GFS Financial Solutions, Inc. (GFS) for collection. Then there is a offer to accept a credit card and pay off a old debit that Asset Acceptance LLC owns. I sent DV and FOAD letters Asset Acceptance 6 months ago never heard from them since. Question? Should I DV GFS also?

There's an out of state CA harassing me. My state requires 3rd party agencies file a bond to be allowed to collect. This agency has not. I called them on it. Now they say they are a first party agency and don't need a bond to collect and are threatening to sue. They said they can "outsource" the litigation process to a local attorney. Can they do this? How do I verify if they're really first party? Thanks.

I just recieved a second call today from pdm assoc out of kansas city. she stated that she just recieved an e-mail about me refusing to pay cashjar an additional $405.00 i paid them the principal amount i borrowed which was $750.00 nothing more. my question is can they garnish my wages and are they legal? I live in ohio this is a nightmare can someone please help me?

I'm about to jump head first in attempting to settle my debts without the help of a credit settlement agency - it seems like an easier route to take with all of these shady companies doing more bad than good. So here's the story. Both me and my wife have about 50k in debt - but we're only going to be settling her debt which is about 30k. We do not file jointly, and none of the accounts are joint (except for checking and savings).

Anyone have experience with this CA? They left a message on my home phone.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that doesn't just help consumers, but businesses as well? Preferably in Wyoming, but as long as they're reliable I'm willing to go anywhere.... Thanks so much!

If it comes down to me seeking legal representation, are there any attorneys who specialize in payday lending laws? When I was explaining my situation to my HR person, I might as well have been speaking in another language.
