When a the person calls in regards to the free counseling shouldn't they identify themselves as being affliliated with debtconsolidated care without me asking. I'm being very cautious and I just received a phone call and he didn't. I don't want to be scammed. Please respond asap. Thanks!! Stephanie

A guy named Joseph S from VSC left message for me to call back about a return item from my bank and gave me a reference #. When I called back I got Elizabeth I asked what kind if company is this and she said it was a company that proceeds thru the court room and also a collection company. I gave the reference # and she said the number was wrong and the number she has was different and ask me if I was the person they were trying to get a hold of.

I was just informed that my mom had filed a chapter 13. I don't know much about bankruptcy and everything I look at reads like stereo instructions. Recently her home was about to go into foreclosure. They were able to stop the proceedings and file for the chapter 13 in time. However, because she has refinanced so many times in the past and couldn't keep up with the payments her mortgage is sky high now. $4200 a month. Is there anyway to reduce that? Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

Below is the case of my best friend . Request you to help - "Im a 23 year old college student. I took a summer internship a few years ago that made me travel all over the country on my own dime, which should have been a clue right there. Anyway, since then I managed to wrack up almost 25k in credit card debt. I feel so lost, I don't know what to do. Most of the debt has been charged off I believe as it's been almost a year since I paid last. Creditor calls come in waves it seems. I'll get 5-6 a day for a few weeks and then nothing for a month. Then, what do you know, they are back.

I applied online one night as I had some emergency bills that had to be taken care of. I didnt realize when I signed up on the site and filled out the application that it was a search site that sends your info to all the lendors. I got a deposit from two loans within the next few days and actually had to track them down from the name on the deposit and call them and get the loan documents and details.

What is the difference in the terms, Derogatory or Deliquent, on a credit report? Does Derogatory mean several years past due? Are there time periods for these terms?
