Family member is being sued in IA small claims court for fairly recent credit card debt from Discover Card. they have 20 days to respond and provide plea. If they plea the debt is not valid a court date is set. The debt is valid, excluding fees/interest. Should they plea not valid and try to negotiate the debt at small claims court? If a judgement is rendered, what can they garnish. I'm told only wages. The family member is on social security via a railroad pension. Can they garnish these wages. Family memer is also over 80 years old. Looking for advice.

The person leaving the message said his name is Michael Adkins with a strong Indian accent and the company name sounded like National Affidavit Dept. Thanks for your help.

I've been reading this forum for the last two days (after doing a serach to see if there is any help for people in the PDL trap) and have gotten several good ideas. I am hoping I can get some help as well. I have loans with: East Side lenders: $500.00 loan/$150.00 fee. Have paid twice already Star Cash Processing- Apparently a 200.00 loan/$60.00 fee. I think I have only paid them once. The real kicker is I don't even remember taking out a loan with them. Huskhawk Group-I believe it is $200 loan/$60.00 fee.

if there was an order of court to make payments from income on a CC debt that is being handled by a law firm can a arrest warrant be filed for the debtor. He did complete and send in the information supeona, but did not follow through with a repayment proposal.
