I'l try to make this question short . I'm really close on means test to file chapter 7 , I did it online . My questions are i get child support , 280.00 per month i put that on as income my 1st question is does that detucted from my income somewhere else on form ? My 2nd question is I pay 160.00 per in student loans but i saw no where to add that as an expence ! Is there any where on menas test to do detuct this. If both come off thats a 440.00 difference. If the student loans come out thats 120.00 difference . I just want every deduction i can get. thanks for the help

I have bad credit & like everyone else am trying to get back on the right track. I have a free direct deposit checking account, but no savings. I have some major, major home repairs I need to get done. Due to my credit a 2nd mortgage or refinancing is not going to happen - even though I have about 80K equity in my home. Would joining a credit union be of any help? I keep hearing it's easier to get loans from them, but how true is that? Do the same "bad credit" rules apply. Exactly what is the difference between a bank & a Credit Union for those of us with bad credit?

I'm a little confused about this blog, I thought it was a professional place to get questions answered about debt consolidation. And I understand that you can fill out a questionaire on this site to get personal debt consolidation help but all I seem to see is a place to bad mouth other companies. And Nascar Devil is listed as a Moderator but he is is so unprofessional and I'm not sure I would have anything to do with a company that has Nascar as a Moderator. Cusing people out and making snide remarks says this isn't someone I'd like to do business with.

IS THERE ALL VALUE RECEIVED TALKING TO CREDITORS BEFORE 100 DAYS TO SETTLE FOR THE BEST % SETTLEMENT? Should I just ignore their calls and letters until I hit the 100-120 day mark?

Does anyone know if there is really a Kimberly Krauss who is an in house attorney with CSC? If so, what can she do? Is she going to file a judgement against me on a bad debt? Also, I am on disability and receive SSDI and private disability money, can they garnish my bank account and take out any disability payments that I get from Social Security or from a private disability insurer?

I have a large chunk of money owed to Citi and Chase - approx 70k. There is no way that I could pay them in one lump sum even at 30% settlement. What have been able to manage to get them to agree to? Thank you for any help.

My mother is in a terrible situation credit-wise, and sadly I'm not in a position to handle her debt. Shes has about 31k in credit card debt with Chase between 2 accounts, both of which are current. I am an authorized user on one of these accounts, so a portion of the debt is mine. (As a matter of fact, she just used one of those checks they send you to write me a 2k check to help me pay for my daughter's daycare.) She has been talking to an agent from a company who's name I think is "Debt Solutions" ?
