DEBT ELIMINATION DOCUMENTS

16 years 10 months ago
I have some documents that I received by email which are supposed to eliminate debt with no or minimal consequences. They are more than I can understand. I don't know what degree of validity they have, but the person who sent them to me said that they do work. I will send them to anyone for free. I just want to find out whether or not they work. starting settlement

16 years 10 months ago
We are considering DIY settlement. Our cards are current but we are having a hard time making ends meet. Cards are also maxed out. Anyhow, when starting settlement, is it best to default on ALL cards at once or just one or two at a time? I realize we can save more money per month toward settlement if we stop payment on all our cards (6 total). However, would it be better to just work on one at a time? Otherwise, I have creditors who will be waiting (not patiently) for 2 years for their money. Thanks...

got sued by attorneys for collection agency

16 years 10 months ago
Hi i have a court order to appear on July 27 for credit card debt. Originally this debt is only 500 bucks, but including the attorneys fees, and interest it went to 1300 bucks. I made a couple of payments last year for the total of 450 before I got laid off from work while I'm 7 months pregnant. I tried to negotiate this debt with them but they wont consider it neither cooperate with me, do I have a strong case or what would be the worst scenario for me?

validation proof?

16 years 10 months ago
Ok, I need advice on this one. I sent a validation letter to MiraMed asking for proof that I owe them the money for a hospital bill. I was turned over to collections by St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, In. because they didnt want to make payment arrangements with me. So I received a collection letter from Merimed and then sent the validation letter stating I wanted proof that they owe this debt. I received in the mail a "summary" of the amount I owe to St. Francis. All it is is a print out of the itemized billing(s) statement. No proof that I owe them.

BofA along with other debt.....what to do??!!

16 years 10 months ago
Ok....I've got a line of credit with BofA for about $11,500. I was recently in the hardship program (as of the beginning of the year) as the only way I would be able to reduce my finance charges and actually see my balance go down. I had been paying them monthly until last month. They've called and I just basically told them that there is only one income coming into the house right now due to a lay off. And that I may be considering bankruptcy. They said that they will document my current situation and contact me with "courtesy calls" to see if the situation in my house has changed.

Collection agency lied

16 years 10 months ago
I have been sending money every month for 6 months to a collection agency for one of my credit cards. They had told me that the interest had stopped and that the amount I pay every month would be coming off of the balance due. after several months, I realized that the interest had not stopped and only about $5.00 was coming off of the balance! When I confronted them they said yes, the interest was still adding on and there was nothing they could do about it. I told them that I had documented what their employee told me and they said that she was wrong, sorry! They lied to me.

An Oregon State Employment Garnishment in Oklahoma

16 years 10 months ago
I was given paperwork for a wage garnishment from Oregon State employment Dept. (I live/work in Oklahoma), last week. It was for unemployment insurance overpayment in 2006, 3 yrs ago. It appears that a state agency does not have to go through the court system, in order to file a garnishment??? I received copies of the garnishment today, at my home, along with a "Challenge to Garnishment" form, that I am looking for information on how to fill out. In Oklahoma I can file for a "hardship", if I know where to file/paperwork to fill out, etc....
