I have talking to boa about settlement for about two months the lowest I can get is 40000 on 120000 account and I truley can only come up with around 24,000 which they said was below wha tthe OCC will let them do is that true or is BS. I dont even know what the occ is....... Im only 120 day he said that my charge off is around aug 25 th What should I do because if I can't settle this account I will have to file BK... Im losing sleep over this..........Would it help if I let it go 150 days or is 40,000 th lowest they can really go

Here's the deal... searching for advice, experience, and comfort, lol,. Sorry this is so long. I have only 2 accounts, Citi is at $20K and BofA is at $40K. Holy cow! Long story short, I cannot afford the min. pays any longer and no more credit to carry me, sigh. This is the first month I've been deliquent in payments and it's killin me. I've researched many DS companies and selected one, Prestige Financial Solutions... my first payment should come out this month. I checked their TASC and BBB rating, which was good.

I live in Canada. I purchase a vacation membership in Mexico but somehow have a hard time to pay the balance. The clud send my file to a US collection agency. the agency left a message to call back. I did call back and tried to make arrangement to pay what I can afford but was told to pay everything at once. My wife also called to arrange a payment plan but was told the same thing and threatened with big interest. Since no agreement was made they were harrassing us with everyday call but I stop calling back. The last message for me was a threatening message.

i have two different collection agencies trying to collect for the same debt they both have sent me a validation letters. the weird thing is the second collection agency has the first collection on their letter and as previous creditor. i called the 1st collection agency and the rep stated they haven't sold my account to anyone, so i then told her about the second collection agency and she stated they don't know anything about the second agency.

I know how credit card settlements work, but I'm getting nervous because I haven't received any info from Resqdebt and of course my credit card companies won't stop calling. I want to believe I picked the right choice, but what if my money is just being taken. My husband and I work and we have to kids. I just don't want to be making a mistake. Any ideas...

I received summons & complaint and have to answer it in 21 days. Well, it has been 20 days, so I have to do something quick! They bought the debt from Bank of America. If you could help me answer this in a simple manner, at least I can buy some time to get legal aid. I have not had proof of validation, and they have not included it. If this has been asked before forgive me.. I had sent a DV letter to the law offiices of Mitchell N. Kay almost 2 months ago.. first they did send me a repyl withen 30 days simply stating they are "looking into this".. today I received proof that I owe this debt...it has been almost 2 months since I sent the DA to them.. are they able to legally collect this from me since it has been after the 30 days of showing proof?? I live in WI and I think for my state that a CA needs to be lisenced in this state but I dont know if they are or not or if that is even correct either..

I will be filing Chapter 7 in the next 30 days or so and am trying to get my arms around everything. I find the VA law on how pensions are handled confusing. I will not be eligible for a pension until August of this year and that would be at a reduced rate. I did not intend to file for that pension until next year. In one place I read that in Virigina 75% of earned but unpaid pension payments are exempt and in other that the first $17,500/year is exempt.
