I have been paying on my student loan and apparently missed a payment in January. This Month (May) my wages started being garnish plus the monthly payment. This is over 25% of my gross monthly income. When I called EDU the person told me "too bad". I thought they can only garnish up to 15% of my disposable monthly income. Because of this garnishment I cannot afford to pay my other loan payment and eat. What can I do. I was told I could apply for a hardship but it would take 60 days. help

anyone know anything about them?

I sent out my letters and e-mails a week ago...no response as of yet. I did get an e-mail from e-payday-loan that says "final attempt to resolve" and if I called immediately I could set up a "partial payment arrangement" that would immediately stop the fees from piling up. Do you think I should respond to this by saying "as stated in my e-mail I will only send in payments by USPS and only for the principle amount" And what about no one else calling me? Should I just ignore it and wait for the storm to hit? (which I'm sure it will)

Is the SOL dependant upon the state you reside, or the home office of the lender? If it's based upon where I live, what happens if I move to another State?

I got a letter stating I had returned check for $480.00. I never wrote the check. I called the agency about it. I was told it was PDL company I didn’t pay. I let them know I had sent them emails and letters by mail. I have not heard back from the PDL. PDLs are illegal in New Jersey. They had been told I didn’t know that when I got the loan. I was only paying the principle on the account. I was told to fax them a copy of the letter. The fax number does not work. I even called back to make sure I had the right number. What should I do next? I only owe $210.00 Thank You All
