Hi Guys, I just posted a few days ago, that my Suntrust FIA Card services card(owned by BofA) offered me a settlemt for $7,300 after 60 days late. By Balance is $18,422. I turned them down because I only have $5,000 to settle with. Well today only five days later, they called me back and are willing to settle the account for $5,000. Here is the letter they just faxed over to me. Dear Mrs. XXXXXX Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the above referenced account.

I hadn't heard from any PDL's for a while, but, well, they're still at it; I received a call from "Marc Anthony" this morning w/ a Washington DC phone #. He referred me to a case number and another phone number (202 558 7670) for Trans Litigation National, also a DC #. I called and was told the usual - I owed money to First East, if I didn't pay I'd have someone show up at my job and give me a subpoena, etc. etc. They said I'd been contacted several times by collection agencies with no results.

Hi, I got a call from them yesterday and I haven't received a collection call in about 2 years. This debt has not been paid on since approx Sept of 2005. (JC Penney) The caller yesterday wanted my bank/rounting information and wanted to post date a withdrawl. The lady said I owed a $1500 and would drop it to $600 and I declined then she said something about $300'ish. I said I would call back today with information for her to pay it.(Obviously I'm not). Did I just reinstate the SOL on this account?

My husband and I are thinking of filing chapter 7. However, after meeting with an attorney , we realize that we cannot afford his fees. I was doing some research online and found how you can get the paperwork done online but you have to actually file the paperwork with the courts on your own. Has anyone here done this. Our debt is mainly medical bills, payday loans, we have a car loan but don't want to lose the car. Any info regarding this would be extremely helpful. Thanks : )

hello, I have a 2006 collection on my file. its is for a medical bill of 500$. I only recently discovered it. never knew about it before. the debt was validated as I received a reply letter.its simple, stating that the original fee for the service was 7000, my part was 500 - which I never paid and it ended up on my credit file. I am not sure what I should do now. should I offer full payment for delete deal? should I make them provide more detailed information about the amount in hope it is actually less...? should I dispute with the bureau? pls help:) thanks very y much!
