This forum is a Godsend. My husband and I have 104K of CC/loan debt. I am thinking we will be able to do this ourselves with alot of education/reading. I have a few questions. 1. I lease my car, and my lease is up in october. If I begin now with stopping payments on our cards, when October comes around, I won't be able to get another car, right? So, should I trade my car in for another now before we begin this journey? Majority of debt is husbands name, I am authorized user on 2 cards. One account is solely mine, so what do you think? 2. All the CC are linked to our bank acct.

When you request debt validation, how do they handle accounts that were applied for online. There is no "signature", so what does the creditor use in place? Just curious, because I never sent anyone a signed application for them to have on file.

Ok...so this Mann Bracken "law firm" keeps calling...four days in a row...with four different people calling...using four different numbers... On day two and three...I tried calling all numbers...several times...everytime it went straight to voice mail! On day two I left a better contact number and better contact time which they did not seem to understand. On day three...I left a message stating to send me a DV letter and to not call the number... Now we are on day four with a new number and a new person... But same old voice mail...

I rec'd a notice of settlement from NAFS for Chase credit card the owed amount is 5680.78 and the settlement amount is for 1704.23. Should I hold out? The problem is i don't have 1704.23 may be a couple of months before I do. What should i do this is the first offer. If i don't go along with it what will happen? Thanks

I have a question. I sent greenlightfunding.com a C & D letter through united parcel service (ups) today and they refused delivery. Is it better to send certified mail through the United States Post Office?

Because it's about $450 overdrawn (again) SO do you think it'll be successfull to go ahead and send the C and D letters? What other letters do I need to send? Would you reccommend emailing them or sending them in the mail? Also, where can I find MS law so my letters will be accurate?
