How many people when doing debt DIY settlement, have been asked to verify your income? I can afford my minimum payments, and will never be able to get out of debt this way. I still want to do debt settlement though.

I requested validation from a collection company for a medical bill that occured about a year ago and they sent me a statement that had my symptoms and what they used to treat them on it. I know they broke the HIPPA, so now what? I don't want to sue but I do want this removed.

I've been successful in getting a few items deleted. It's been years since I've had a new delinquent item. I'm wondering if there is anyway to guage my progress. I've checked equifax score before, although that one doesn't have as much negative items. I have 4 collections appearing on my EX and TU report (of which i'm paying off and all at least a couple of years old) as well as a charge-off from a Wachovia bank account (which is the same account as one of the CAs). In addition my student loans are paying current but have delinquent history more than 4 years old.

I had a bad credit history where I had 10 to 15 collection accounts. Now I have paid my entire debit and my score went up to 630 that used to be 560. So now if I want to buy a house or a car and get a loan. would banks will approve me the loan or still it is going to be a problem since i was in collection for last 3 years however now everything is been taken care.

Can I enter debt settlement when I still have a job? My left over income at the end of the month is around $100. I put 5% down on our house last year, therefore I have no equity. I'm probably up side down in my house at the moment. Should I attempt DIY settlement for the $46K? Also, can I settle only half the debt starting out since I don't have enough for the lump sum yet?

ok i went to college ca'chinge student loans $35,000. i got married in college to a real loser..we got debt together..bought a house, a car, a truck, couple charge card..total balance around 110,000...too much too fast while still in college..i worked 3 different jobs and went to school fulltime while my husband worked fulltime..marriage fell apart..we were too younge and not wise enough to know what we were doing financially..eventually we divorced but with lots of debt..the judge ordered him to pay this n that, and he ordered me to pay this n that also.
