Hello, first I would like to thank anyone willing to partake a little advice in advance, this will be a little long, but I really need some help. I am a college student at a private university, and the cost of my tuition is covered by private loans and grants when available.

paying collection account may not help our credit score why should i pay them then?

Collection agents calls and threatens me at night. Is it not illegal?

I read the posts from back in the summer of 2008 about Zip19.com. I am in the same situation right now and would be interested in the outcome the previous poster had, or if anyone has any stories to pass on. Thanks for your time.

I have been receiving calls from cashnetusa and now got a letter saying I owe money. I did not take a loan out through them but last year I did take a couple loans out, which were paid back, and one company sold my information. Its bad enough I have those aholes calling from India with their scams now this. Is there I letter I can send stating I did not take this loan out?? I really don't want to deal with this much longer!

Anyone have any experience with getting a cashcall loan? I got suckered into one 2 years ago in time of need. I borrowed $5075 and have made 24 payments of $254(almost as much as my car note!) and today's payoff amount is $5071! Loan is 59% interest. I know it was a huge mistake getting this loan. Wish I never would have seen there ad on late night TV(stupid Gary Coleman) It was my only option at the time( filed BK back in '04 - stupid college kid mismanaging debt) Does anyone know if debt settlement or management woud help at all?

I got a very wierd call from a 588 area code today. It is a bunch of numbers run together ... too many for a regular phone number. Does anyone know if this is a collector?

When I die, will my student loan be cancelled? Will my kids inherit it? Will it attack my estate if I have one? I see death as the only way to get outta this loan, but do not want my family to face the hardships I have with it....sad to say isn't it..

Anyone had a luck lately with either citi, citi business or American express/Zwicker. I've got them left to go, and frankly the 55% they are offering -- is just too much. Anybody settling lately? -- stopped making payments in Nov 08 - so I'm about 5 months in.
