My son, who was 18 years old in 1985, purchased a new Ford Escort under a contract with Ford Motors. It was repossed after approx. 6 months. In 2009, he was served with papers that say he owes $29,000 to Ford Motor Co. and they are going to garnish his wages. No prior notice was given for his debt. Is there a statute of limitations in matters like this?

Has anyone ever heard of this group? I am using Care One for a dmp of approximately $670. a month including their fee of $45.monthly to pay off a debt of $25, 000 for about 3 years and 10 months. We have made 3 payments so far. Trying to find out how to get a copy of my fico score without joining some group that reports on the Credit Bureau. I know that I can get a free one from all 3 once a year. Any suggestions? Pennysaver PS Seeing our accountant tomorrow and will talk to him. So far Care One_CESI has been very easy to deal with.

I have 8 illegal payday lenders that I still owe principal in the state of Oregon. I have almost paid the principal on 3 of them, but have realized that with my other debt I might have to file for bankruptcy as I just can't make it having to pay all the interest every 2 weeks. I feel morally like I need to make good on these loans as I only took them out 2 months ago, so I was wondering if anyone has had success sending letters to these illegal lenders telling them that you will only pay the principal when you still owe principal.

I have been reading pages of discussions, but where are the success stories, not just the what we should do discussions. I'm 5 mos. in DMP and was wondering. Thanks

Last year, there was a person contacted me via craigslist.com because he/she wanted to buy my stuffs that I posted on it. At that time, I didn't know anything about nigerian scams or anything related to these types of scams. I don't know why I was so naive to accept the cashier checks from somewhere in the US, and then shipped my stuffs to Nigeria!!! Anyway, my bank let me cash out the check without verifying it. I used Western Union to wire the remaining money.

I owe Capital One $17,000 and I am 150 days late with them. I can't seem to get anywhere with them (or Discover ...also $17k) when I've pretty much had success with everyone else. Has anyone had any settlement of under 50% with Cap One? What was your approach.......Written Letter? Calling them? Them Calling you? CA? Anything would be of help. Thanks, Ed

I hope someone can help me. I thought I had filed my 2007 taxes electronically last year. Turns out that wasn't the case. Now I owe taxes for last year and this year. I was told I could consolidate my tax debt for both years but I can't find any information on this. Can anyone help me with this?

I..um dont know how this happened but as of right now I have four outstanding payday loans for $300 each from the internet here in California Red River, Ameriloan, pAYDay yes And one other one.. THey take $90 out each paycheck!!!! Anyone know what i should do!?! :(

Long story but I will try to keep it short. I'd served a summons by a police officer in Oct, 08 from Discover card of owing $17500.00. They listed 7 points in the summons, and I discussed with my BK lawyer and had responded back to denied all points. Today I have received a letter in my mailbox(not served) from an attorney represent Discover Card.

I emailed and faxed my letters to the 3 PDL companies over the weekend. I received this email today from CashBack. This might be easier then I thought!! Dear Ms. U_______ It is our position that as an Internet Lender, we operate under our Nevada license. However we also pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. We are willing to accept your payment arrangement of $262 and you may send your payemnts via cashiers check or money order to the following address______________ Thank you for your patronage. Now, I hope the other 2 are this cooperative.
