I have defaulted student loans that are in a collection agency now. The principal is about 12k and with all interest and fees is like 20k. I am finally in a position where I can make payments. I would like to make one payment but cant pay it in full. Can I settle for something less if I make a payment? ive heard i can settle for significantly lessand have it removed from my credit report. My credit is currently awful and I have never made any payments on this 6 year debt. Conserve is the company collecting (don't know if this makes a difference)

they called me and said that my drivers license was getting ready to be suspended i called the DMV they said everything was fine. Surprised

I was using them to pay bills when I got behind and found myself taking out more just to make pdl payments. I signed up with CareOne about a month ago and these crazy pdl people just keep calling. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions to help me. I even had one tell me they would garrish my wages. I believe SC is a non garishment state.

I purchased some investment properties in the state of TX that went under. They both had 2nd mortgages for 88K a piece (176K total). I've been in communication with the debt collector (Real Time Resolutions) and they are sending me a demand letter for 18K which would then settle both accounts. He also said they would probably file a judgement if I don't settle for that. Do you think I can get the amount lower than that? Should I file bankruptcy instead? I think I may be able to file Chap 7 if I pass the means test. Should I just go to court?

I am being sued for a credit card debt by an attorney/colection agency. They are the assignee/owner of the debt.

MY WIFE AND I FILE JOINT INCOME TAX RETURNS. SHE IS CURRENTLY BEING GARNISHED FOR STUDENT LOAN NON REPAYMENT. WILL THEY TAKE OUR ENTIRE RETURN TO PUT TOWARDS HER LOAN?

Is there one? Bf currently has Sprint(and is OTR trucker), and they had an unlimited mobile plan via their air card for laptops. They recently changed and bf is consistantly going over the 5gb limit they have. I've searched all morning and can't find anyone. Anyone that actually offers an "unlimited" data plan if you call and question.. No.. it's actually 5gb. When you use your computer alot, like he does, especially being an OTR trucker, 5gb is a drop in the bucket. I told him the only other way I know of is "wi'fi".

I'm in the midst of settling my payday loans. In the midst of this, I went to the BBB and entered the info. for Northway Financial Group. My husband's payday loan of $300 was borrowed on 3/23 and they debited his account $180.50 TWICE! He has paid back $61 over the principal. We're in the process of closing down his individual checking account on Friday and then on Tuesday, getting in touch with them. Here is the info.

I agreed in writing, after verification and validation, to a payment arrangement with Mann Bracken. Today I received a letter from them that appears to be a consent judgement. The terms are as we discussed, but it has a superior court letterhead with a blank Civil Action File No. It has a blank space for the judge to sign. This is not from my county court, and obviously no suit or summons has been filed. Should I sign this since the terms are what we agreed, or is this a phony document?

My account with Advanta was just passed to Phillips and Cohen/ Wondering if anyone has dealt with this company? chaka
